I would be more interested if the token provided an income, or if there was a way of earning more tokens. At present, it seems it can only grow it value (price), and to capture that value, you have to sell, and then you no longer have the token. It doesn't really provide continual growth, except on paper (so to speak), as the price increases.

Yeah it is a tokenization of our Hive Power and 100% backed by it, dividends are paid out to delegators though as HP delegations is what keeps the APR high, as to the use case of the AWESOME token from a token holders perspective it is mainly 2 things.
Increasing decimals to 8 is mainly to improve using it with option 2.
We are currently evaluating a few different options to pay out more dividends to HP delegators though, one of those options is to buy AWESOME tokens and pay out in addition to CTP and ALIVE, which would work nicely since all trading for the token peg takes place on @awesomecuration.
