Hello dear friends of Splinterlands.
We are here together again for another amazing weekly battle challenge.
We will deal in this post with the theme of the week, its characteristics and the outcome of the battle.
So here we go.
This week's theme is "LAVA SNIPER".
A common creature of the fire element, with ranged attack.
It has 1 attack point, 2 speed points, and 4 life points, costing 3 mana points to add in battle.
Its status is compatible with its mana cost, which is reduced, but it is a creature with a very weak damage, which only improves from level 4, increasing from 1 to 2 points.
Its distinguishing feature is its standard ability Snipe, through which it aims its attacks against creatures with Ranged or Magic attacks that are not in the first position of the opposing team.
From level 6 Lava Spider obtains the ability Snare, through which, when attacking, it removes the Flying ability of opposing creatures.
At level 10, which is very rare because it takes 400 cards to do so, Lava Spider also gets the ability Poison, with a chance to automatically damage opposing creatures the next round after its attack
My current battle status is 769 rating and I'm in the "Bronze III" league, so those are the characteristics of the Battle Weekly Challenge, and the choice of battle rules was as follows:
A complete battle with all elements and 21 mana points for team composition.
My opponent, in his last 5 battles, used a team of the earth element on 3 occasions, which, as is known, is composed specifically of magic damage.
So there was a great possibility that he would use such a team again.
Since to participate in the battle I had to use a fire team, and there was no creature with magic damage reduction in this element, I decided to use a creature in the first position, with as much life as possible.
So I put the Molten Ash Golem, which has 9 life points, in the first position as my tanker.
Next added the Serpentine Spy and Tenyii Striker for physical damage, and finally the Lava Spider as a "Sniper".
As I suspected the opponent decided to choose a team of earth and the composite by the creatures presented below, let's see:
- Unicorn Mustang
- Mycelic Morphoid
- Chaos Agent
- Khmer Princess
- Regal Peryton
Round 1 started with Regal Peryton and Unicorn Mustang attacking my Molten Ash Golem, which reduced its life from 10 to 5 points and showed me that a victory for my team would be very complicated.
The next act was my Serpentine Spy's turn to defeat the Chaos Agent, which is somewhat positive, but with no practical effect on the battle itself.
In the sequel Lava Spider attacked Khmer Princess and my Tenyii Striker missed his attack against Regal Peryton.
This miss was really a disaster.
Molten Ash Golem attacked Unicorn Mustang, and finally Khmer Princess attacked Molten Ash Golem, which ended the round with 3 life points.
The second round started with the same dynamic, but this time with my Molten Ash Golem being defeated by the opposing Regal Peryton and Unicorn Mustang.
Serpentine Spy was then out for the first position, for which it attacked Unicorn Mustang, and not Khmer Princess, the opposing creature with the least amount of mana.
However Lava Spider supplied such and defeated the Khmer Princess.
And, at the end, Tenyii Striker missed again his attack against Regal Peryton to my misfortune, meaning 6 points less damage in 2 missed attacks.
In the third round I already knew that my chances were really small, because, although it was still a battle of 3 against 3 creatures, the damage and life of mine were lower than that of the opponent.
And that round started with the defeat of my Serpentine Spy by Regal Peryton's attack, so Tenyii Striker was out for the top spot.
And, sad as it may sound, the Lava Spider still missed his attack against Regal Peryton.
In the fourth round Tenyii Striker was defeated right away, so that was the end of the line for me as Lava Spider would no longer effect any attacks.
This week's battle ended in defeat for me, but I can't help but say that this was largely due to two attack errors by my Tenyii Striker.
In a battle with little mana and few creatures, the error of two attacks in a row makes all the difference, and I believe that if it weren't for this situation, the victory would probably be mine.
As for the Lava Spider, it is a creature whose purpose is, above all, to cause damage to the last opposing creatures, especially through its Sniper ability.
I always try to use a sniper creature in my teams and, in fire teams, LAva Spider is, without a doubt, a good choice, together with Fire Beetle, which also has the Sniper ability.
So that's it dear friends, I hope you enjoyed this post and thanks for reading.
See you next week.
