La herencia más grande que me dejo mi padre fue el hábito de la lectura, realmente a todos en casa; gracias a él, todos mis hermanos y yo somos amantes de la lectura, independientemente de un libro, revista, periódico, novela u otro medio, lo importante es mantenernos activos con la lectura, lo cual hemos transmitido a nuestros hijos y ellos a su vez a sus hijos; lo que es muy gratificante porque leer nos enriquece, nutre y nos llena de sabiduría.
The greatest inheritance that my father left me was the habit of reading, really to everyone at home; thanks to him, all my siblings and I are reading lovers, regardless of a book, magazine, newspaper, novel or other media, the important thing is to keep us active with reading, which we have transmitted to our children and they in turn to their children; which is very rewarding because reading enriches us, nourishes us and fills us with wisdom.
Leer es una de mis pasiones, es lo que más hago a diario porque me traslado a otro mundo alejado de mis propias complicaciones diarias. Es un hábito que ha permanecido en mí desde que lo conocí y con el pasar del tiempo he tenido la dicha de leer muchos libros y novelas. Con mi profesión es mucho lo que se lee aún y analiza, es algo muy propio de la carrera docente y lo más esencial porque de allí parte todo, la escritura, el vocabulario, la redacción, interpretación y mucho más.
Reading is one of my passions, it is what I do most every day because it takes me to another world away from my own daily complications. It is a habit that has remained in me since I met him and over time I have had the joy of reading many books and novels. With my profession there is a lot of reading and analyzing, it is something very typical of a teaching career and the most essential thing because that is where everything starts, writing, vocabulary, writing, interpretation and much more.
Cuando estudiaba en la universidad recuerdo que una profesora nos mandó a leer una novela para realizar un análisis, al principio me pareció fuera de sí porque la materia no tenía nada que ver con literatura ni nada parecido, pero al terminar mi trabajo comprendí idea de la profesora y es por ello que hoy deseo compartir esta experiencia con ustedes, creo que esta muy a la medida de lo que vivimos a nivel mundial y más los latinos.
When I studied at the university I remember that a teacher sent us to read a novel to make an analysis, at first it seemed out of place because the subject had nothing to do with literature or anything like that, but when I finished my work I understood the teacher's idea and that is why today I want to share this experience with you, I think it is very much in line with what we live in the world and more so the Latinos.
"El hombre de la máscara de vidrio" de Eduardo Liendo tiene un discurso fundamental con una reflexión profunda sobre la influencia alienante de la televisión y los medios de comunicación en la sociedad, especialmente en la dinámica familiar. Es una historia que aborda temas importantes como la vida cotidiana, la familia y ese afán por querer estar a la par con otros ritmos, otras culturas y hasta costumbres que no son los nuestros.
Eduardo Liendo's “El hombre de la máscara de vidrio” has a fundamental discourse with a profound reflection on the alienating influence of television and the media in society, especially in family dynamics. It is a story that addresses important issues such as daily life, family and the desire to keep up with other rhythms, other cultures and even customs that are not ours.
Ceferino Rodríguez Quiñones es el personaje principal de esta novela, profesor de bachillerato, hombre lleno de valores, apacible y conforme con su tranquila vida y de la noche a la mañana tiene que lidiar con la llegada del televisor a su hogar, lucha constantemente con la influencia que ejercen los medios de comunicación en su grupo familiar, tanto así que llega a ser considerado loco por su familia y al final no le quedo de otra más que alinearse con ellos. Fue una transformación drástica para su vida, tanto que afectó su entorno familiar y cambió por completo su percepción de la realidad.
Ceferino Rodríguez Quiñones is the main character of this novel, a high school teacher, a man full of values, peaceful and content with his quiet life and overnight he has to deal with the arrival of the television at home, constantly struggles with the influence exerted by the media in his family group, so much so that he comes to be considered crazy by his family and in the end he had no choice but to align with them. It was a drastic transformation for his life, so much so that it affected his family environment and completely changed his perception of reality.
Más allá de ser una novela, es un libro que tiene claves importantes como la alineación y la perdida del individualismo donde el escritor plantea que la televisión puede convertirse en una herramienta de alineación y al mismo tiempo desintegra la familia llevándola a la desconexión entre personas y generando aislamiento; que es lo que estamos viviendo ahora con los teléfonos celulares y sus diferentes consecuencias, esto como tema principal.
Beyond being a novel, it is a book that has important keys such as alignment and the loss of individualism where the writer states that television can become a tool of alignment and at the same time disintegrates the family leading to disconnection between people and generating isolation; which is what we are living now with cell phones and their different consequences, this as the main theme.
El hombre de la máscara de vidrio es un libro que en definitiva disfrute mucho porque a medida que avanzaba encontraba algo nuevo en el personaje, sus cambios generan risas y eso hace que la novela sea más atractiva, es una mezcla de complicaciones con humor, el querer mantener la razón, pero al mismo tiempo entrar en un mundo desconocido que te abraza y te consume. Es una historia que combina elementos de sátira, realismo social, ficción alegórica y humor; es una obra repleta de reflexiones para valorar y darse cuenta de que tenemos una realidad única que va más allá de una pantalla que nos mantiene entre la ficción y la desintegración familiar.
The Man in the Glass Mask is a book that I definitely enjoyed a lot because as I progressed I found something new in the character, his changes generate laughter and that makes the novel more attractive, it is a mixture of complications with humor, wanting to keep the reason, but at the same time enter an unknown world that embraces you and consumes you. It is a story that combines elements of satire, social realism, allegorical fiction and humor; it is a work full of reflections to value and realize that we have a unique reality that goes beyond a screen that keeps us between fiction and family disintegration.
Leer este libro fue una maravillosa experiencia que me lleno de aprendizajes con respecto a la vida, la familia y nuestras raíces; esos vínculos que debemos tener como un tesoro porque nos identifican como personas de un lugar específico, pero más allá de ello, tener claro la autenticidad personal que nos caracteriza y nos hace únicos.
Reading this book was a wonderful experience that filled me with learning about life, family and our roots; those bonds that we should have as a treasure because they identify us as people from a specific place, but beyond that, to be clear about the personal authenticity that characterizes us and makes us unique.
