Si alguien puede enseñarnos sobre resiliencia o adaptabilidad, es un gato.
Este que ves aquí es Pancho, lo adopté este año, y no puede ponerse en pie con sus 4 patas debido a que es paralítico de las extremidades inferiores. No sabemos qué le pasó, solo sabemos que no puede pararse como otros gatos.
Este mismo año nació, estuvo en la calle sin protección, lo adoptamos, mi perro lo malogró hasta que pensamos que no iba a vivir. Se recuperó, aprendió a moverse, a defenderse, a caminar rápido, a limpiarse TODO el cuerpo, a defecar adecuadamente, a escalar, y un montón de cosas más.
Cuando el perro lo atacó fue debido a que pasó a la casa de los gatos, no nos dimos cuenta por qué era de noche. Y al día siguiente Pancho no se podía mover.
Sinceramente, yo no le di esperanza de vida. No se movía. Lo alimentábamos con una jeringa, y lo manteníamos lo más cómodo posible.
Se recuperó aferrándose a la vida.
Y desde el momento en que llegó a casa no ha parado de aprender.
Se hizo increíblemente independiente, y para él no existen imposibles en su vida gatuna.
Esta mañana lo miraba y me sorprendió que logró limpiarse todo su cuerpo, gracias a que usa sus patas delanteras para mover partes a las que no puede llegar por falta de movilidad en las patas de atrás.
Y me dije: Qué impresionante es la naturaleza, y nosotros, siendo humanos "más capaces" nos quejamos a diario de cosas sin sentido.
Debo admitir que lo he cuidado, pero, también lo he dejado solo porque debe de aprender. Acostumbrar a alguien a que siempre estarás allí es un error.
Así que creo que esto ha influido. Lo dejo haciendo ciertas cosas, y me quedo observando. Si necesita mi ayuda, voy a socorrerlo; de lo contrario, solo dejo que el mismo entienda que pueda hacerlo todo.
Sí, es discapacitado, pero, tengo la creencia de que nuestra mayor discapacidad está en nuestra mente, cuando nos limitamos.
Por ello no creo en imposibles. Tal como en mi país.
Confió en que la situación económica mejorará. Que los venezolanos tendremos lo que por derecho merecemos. Que nuestros hijos verán una Venezuela, "tierra que fluye leche y miel" (Éxodo 3:8).
No creo en imposibles, porque sé la capacidad que tengo, y aunque no la conociera, me encantaría de descubrirla.
También sé que se puede lograr cualquier cosa que queramos en la vida. Solo es cuestión de investigar un poco, y ser perseverante.
Por ello, el arte de la resiliencia definitivamente, si no lo conoces, lo puedes aprender de un gato. Uno paralítico, aparentemente, que se levanta de vez en cuando en 4 patas, y que se aferra a la vida. Que la aprovecha más que cualquier ser, y que cada día aprende algo nuevo.
Por eso hoy te traigo esta experiencia. Quiero que pienses en ello cuando creas que no puedes con algo y digas "si un gato puede, yo también podré".
Debido a que todo está en nuestra mente, sin importar qué.

This one you see here is Pancho, I adopted him this year, and he can't stand on all 4 legs because he's paralyzed in his lower limbs. We don't know what happened to him, we just know that he can't stand like other cats.
This same year he was born, he was on the street without protection, we adopted him, my dog spoiled him until we thought he wasn't going to live. He recovered, learned to move, to defend himself, to walk quickly, to clean his ENTIRE body, to defecate properly, to climb, and a ton of other things.
When the dog attacked him it was because he went into the cat house, we didn't realize it was nighttime. And the next day Pancho couldn't move.
Honestly, I didn't give him any hope of life. He didn't move. We fed him with a syringe, and kept him as comfortable as possible.
He recovered by clinging to life.
And from the moment he came home he has not stopped learning.
He became incredibly independent, and for him there are no impossibles in his cat life.
This morning I looked at him and I was surprised that he managed to clean his entire body thanks to the fact that he uses his front paws to move parts that he cannot reach due to lack of mobility in his back paws.
And I said to myself: How impressive nature is, and we, being "more capable" humans, complain daily about meaningless things.
I must admit that I have taken care of him, but I have also left him alone because he must learn. Getting someone used to the fact that you will always be there is a mistake.
So I think this has had an influence. I let him do certain things, and I stay watching. If he needs my help, I go to help him; otherwise, I just let him understand that he can do everything.
Yes, he is disabled, but I believe that our greatest disability is in our mind, when we limit ourselves.
That is why I do not believe in impossibilities. Just like in my country.
I trust that the economic situation will improve. That Venezuelans will have what we rightfully deserve. That our children will see a Venezuela, "a land flowing with milk and honey" (Exodus 3:8).
I do not believe in impossibilities, because I know the capacity I have, and even if I did not know it, I would love to discover it.
I also know that we can achieve anything we want in life. It is just a matter of researching a little, and being perseverant.
Therefore, the art of resilience, if you do not know it, you can definitely learn it from a cat. A paralyzed one, apparently, that gets up on 4 legs from time to time, and that clings to life. That takes advantage of it more than any being, and that learns something new every day.
That is why today I bring you this experience. I want you to think about this when you think you can't do something and say "if a cat can do it, I can too."
It's all in our mind, no matter what.

Una gran lección, la verdad es que cada experiencia, solo con estar atentos, nos podemos encontrar con grandes lecciones.
También comparto ese pensamiento :)
Me parece un gesto tan hermoso que hayas adoptado un gatito con discapacidad 🥰🥰 Me imagino el susto que pasaste cuando el perro lo atacó 😱😱 pero me contenta que esté bien y que hayas podido compartir con nosotros la gran lección de resiliencia que el gatito te ha enseñado.
