We set us a new record here in Louisville recently, had about four and a half inches of snow fall Monday night into Tuesday morning, and between that and the nice glaze of ice that came with it we had more than we'd ever gotten this early in December. SNOW DAY!!!
Snow days ain't what they used to be, now they're 'nontraditional instruction' days and the kids have to go to school on the computer. Rude. We got just enough snow for most folks to stay home for the day but there's always a good number of folks who have to go in anyways. By midmorning the main roads were clear but earlier in the day the local police had announced that they weren't to bothered about car accidents unless there were injuries.
Was actually warmer as the snow was falling than afterwards. Went wandering with the camera around 1000, found plenty of nice puddles for reflections. Stopped and got some sushi, by the time I started making my way home the puddles were all starting to freeze again.
Even after all these years here, it's still wild to me that walking to get sushi is even a possibility, much less on a snow day. I'm not mad.
My initial jaunt out in the snow yesterday was with a 24-70mm lens, took another shot at it today with a 70-300mm. Have been trying to revisit places with different lenses to force myself to see and shoot differently.
There was less snow and more people out today but it was cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey, so my meandering was more limited.
Record or no, it wasn't enough snow disrupt the city for long, things were approaching what passes for normal in these parts by day two.
That's my sign to walk this to a conclusion. While it would please me greatly if this was the last of the cold and snow for the winter, there's not much hope in that. Until we're safely into summer again, y'all stay warm out there.
Where we live, we have to travel 10 hours to see snowfall, after which we reach a cold area and then if we are lucky, it snows during those days, so we have to take care of a lot of things during those days, especially children have to be very careful otherwise they get sick.
I wish the snow stayed that far away from me :) Which part of Pakistan are you in?
Kinda sad T_T Can the kids enjoy snow for once, especially when the feeling comes from suspended classes? XD

The state only allows 10 days of NTI, so if it snows enough I think they get to. I know last year there was one snowstorm that they didn't even bother with computer school and the kids were all out on the golf course sledding. When the UPS plane crashed here last month, they cancelled school for the next day and said it would be 'just like a snow day.'

sighs ... wish we had some more of that cold and snow :) would be nice to be able to ice skate again on natural ice and take Photos of people doing it in the parks .

You can have it! I could definitely do without it. That'd be fun to shoot for sure, just don't know that I want to put up with that much cold :) Did it used to get that cold where you live?
yes it did , we used to have often an "elfstedentocht" where people would skate 125 miles through different cities on one day. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elfstedentocht last time was 1997 . . .
Never seen that much snow in my life and I hope I never see that in my hometown. Stay warm!
I am jealous, could live with that sort of weather. This was actually fairly mild as far as snowfall goes, just a bit earlier than usual.
