"Dystopia" is basically about: "Me sitting in front of my PC after a bad afternoon and using post-processing and editing my photos as catharsis"... So these photos which I share with you today tend to be a bit out of my standards... These are photos that I keep on my hard drives knowing that I would not edit or share them in normal moods, but I keep them because I know that at some point I will want to use them to work on them as if I were "erasing on paper with a lot of anger"... So this is what I'm writing about is where this kind of photographic work comes from...
"Distopía" se trata básicamente de: "Yo sentado en frente de mi PC después de una mala tarde y usando el post-procesado y la edición de mis fotos como catarsis"... Así que estas fotos las cuales comparto hoy con ustedes tienden a salirse un poco de mis estándares... Son fotos que guardo en mis discos duros a sabiendas de que no las editaría ni compartiría en condiciones normales de ánimo, pero las guardo porqué sé que en algún momento querré usarlas para trabajar sobre ellas como si "estuviese borroneando sobre un papel con rabia"... Así que de esto que estoy escribiendo es de donde nace este tipo de trabajos fotográficos...

"Decapitated ruins"/"Ruinas decapitadas"
"Goat in the dumpster"/"Cabra en el basurero"
"A chronicle of another fracase"/"Crónica de otro fracaso"
Do you see what I mean? They are strange photos, they speak bizarrely, they are made up of elements that transmit a message of " town going down the drain"... It's a dark time here where I live, sometimes things are not easy and this is breathed in the atmosphere and becomes a kind of vapour that penetrates the mood of those who live here... So, I'm a kind of "melodrama culturist" and I escape to my little studio and I do this... I edit images, I look for images, I look at images, dozens of them... And in each of them I understand a little and calm down.... That's why I say that this is "catharsis"...
¿Ven a que me refiero?... Son fotos raras, hablan de bizarramente, se componen de elementos que transmiten un mensaje de "pueblo yéndose por el drenaje"... Son días aciagos aquí en donde vivo, las cosas a veces no son fáciles y eso se respira en el ambiente y se transforma en una especie de vaho que penetra en el animo delos que aquí vivimos... Entonces, yo que soy una especie de "cultor del melodrama" me escapo a mi pequeño estudio y hago esto... Edito imágenes, busco imágenes, miro imágenes, docenas de ellas... Y en cada una de ellas entiendo un poco y me calmo... Por eso digo que esto es "catarsis"...

But I'm not complaining, I'm simply using this... It's not that I'm some kind of compulsive nihilist who gloats and applauds and is certain of his assumptions, no... I'm just "here" and I'm trying to make the best of the way things happen... The list of "why we are the way we are" in these towns in the provinces of Venezuela, is very long and I do not intend to write that much today... It seems to me that it is enough to say that in 2004 (date of the last believable local census) we were 35,000 inhabitants and now we are hardly more than 15,000, so these figures summarise the why and the how of much of what happens here...
Pero no me estoy quejando, simplemente utilizo esto... No se trata de que yo sea una especie de nihilista compulsivo que se regodea y aplaude cerciorándose de sus presunciones, no... Simplemente "estoy aquí" y estoy procurando sacar el mejor provecho de como suceden las cosas... La lista del "porqué estamos como estamos" en estos pueblos de las provincias de Venezuela, es muy larga y no pienso escribir tanto hoy... Me parece que basta con decir que en el 2004 (fecha del ultimo ceso creíble) eramos 35.000 habitantes y ahora difícilmente seamos más de 15.000, entonces esas cifras resumen el porqué y el como de mucho de lo que ocurre aquí...

At the end of the day, this has done its job and I feel better than when I started creating this article for #Hive.... That's maybe what's important... Because having this "space here" to share is something that makes me grow and change on a daily basis...
Al final del día, esto ha cumplido su cometido y me siento mejor que cuando comencé a crear este articulo para #Hive... Eso quizás sea lo importante... Porque tener este "espacio aquí" para compartir es algo lo cual me hace crecer y cambiar a diario...

ADDITIONAL TECHNICAL NOTE: Photographs captured with my Nikon D7000 DSLR camera in RAW format, then processed in Adobe Camera RAW for adjustments regarding light, sharpening, contrast and depth... They were then exported to JGP format on which minor modifications such as straightening and adding watermarks were carried out using PhotoScape 3.6.3.
NOTA TÉCNICA ADICIONAL: Fotografias capturadas con mi cámara DSLR Nikon D7000 en formato RAW, procesadas posteriormente en Adobe Camera RAW para ajustes relativos a luz, afilado, contraste y profundidad... Luego fueron exportadas a formato JGP sobre el cual se llevaron a cabo modificaciones menores como enderezado y agregado de marcas de agua usando PhotoScape 3.6.3.

I can totally relate to your plight dear friend as we share similar woes in my country Nigeria. And one thing these two countries have in common is that they are oil producing nations which ought to make them state of the art but instead it built greed. Crude oil is not a blessing to us but a curse.
Awww... Yes friend @abipolar95... We are in very rich countries, but in addition to producing oil, the production of "corruption and greed" is very high :( ... It's unfortunate...
