Don't let my stray dogs stay on my hard drives, let them get out of there and transform themselves into messages which speak about streets animated by their gazes... Can anything be more eloquent than a dog's gaze?... Every month I take hundreds of photos with stray dogs or with homes, it doesn't matter... I don't understand my town without its dogs, they are an integral part of the street history here...

Cada mes hago cientos de fotos con perros callejeros o con hogares, no importa... Yo no entiendo mi pueblo sin sus perros, ellos son parte integral de la historia callejera aquí...

I wander along my town's streets, trying to freeze time with my camera... I'm a kind of crazy hybrid between nihilist and consummate romantic. So I hear voices, I imagine things, I laugh alone, I see dead people and I talk out loud without having anyone to talk to... But the dogs get me out of there, they bring me back and put my feet on the ground... I look at them and I see angels whose single purpose is perhaps to make us humans better... I was born and grew up looking at them, I have in my memories their joys and my sorrows... I conclude that they should be eternal and I also think that, if there is a heaven, then there must be dogs there to be able to caress them among clouds and eternal lights...
Yo deambulo por las calles de mi pueblo procurando congelar el tiempo con mi cámara... Soy una especie de loco híbrido entre nihilista y romántico consumado. Entonces escucho voces, imagino cosas, me río solo,veo gente muerta y hablo en voz alta sin tener con quien... Pero los perros me sacan de allí, ellos me hacen regresar y poner los pies en tierra... Les miro y miro ángeles cuyo único propósito es quizás hacer que nosotros los humanos seamos mejores... Nací y crecí mirándolos, tengo en mis memorias sus alegrías y mis tristezas... Concluyo que deberían ser eternos y también pienso que, sí acaso existe el cielo, entonces ha de haber perros allá para poder acariciarlos entre nubes y luces eternas...

I could spend hours writing to my stray dogs, just as I could spend hours, days, months and years taking photos of them... There is something therapeutic about these charming animals... It is not by chance that they are so close to us humans. I don't know how to explain it, but there is something "intertwined" in our memories as a species and that of the dogs... At 53 years of age, I am still enraptured when I meet a dog's gaze directly in the street. It is like being "always a child" when this happens... I can almost hear them thinking... There is a "strange communion" between them and any of us whose sensibility is high enough to perceive it...
Podría pasar horas escribiéndole a mis perros callejeros, así como podría pasar horas, días,meses y años haciéndoles fotos... Hay algo de terapéutico en estos animales encantadores... No es casualidad que sean tan cercanos a nosotros los humanos. No sé explicarlo, pero hay algo "entrelazado" en nuestras memorias como especie y la de los perros... A mis 53 años me sigo embelesando cuando cruzo mi mirada directamente con la de un perro en la calle. Esto es como ser "siempre niño" cuando esto sucede... Casi puedo escucharlos pensar... Hay una "comunión extraña" entre ellos y cualquier de nosotros cuya sensibilidad sea lo suficientemente alta para percibirlo...

Gee, it makes me happy that my dogs haven't stayed on my hard drives and continue to emerge to be with you here on #Hive... The last photo (9) is for "Tuco", a little dog from the nearby neighbourhood that I've seen for so many years that I can't remember how many there are. His owner told me that Tuco turned 17 years old last December and that's lovely...

La ultimo foto (9) es para "Tuco", un perrito del vecindario cercano al cual he visto desde hace tantos años que ya no recuerdo cuantos son. Su dueña me ha dicho que Tuco cumplió 17 años en diciembre pasado y eso es encantador...

ADDITIONAL TECHNICAL NOTE: Photographs captured with my Nikon D7000 DSLR camera in RAW format, then processed in Adobe Camera RAW for adjustments regarding light, sharpening, contrast and depth... They were then exported to JGP format on which minor modifications such as straightening and adding watermarks were carried out using PhotoScape 3.6.3.

Are these all owned dogs that are allowed to wander the streets or are some living permanently on the streets by themselves (abandoned/feral)? In Thailand we have a real mix which makes the streets fascinating. I love having them around!

It's like that, they are what I call "half-stray dogs" because almost all of them spend the night in houses or receive care and food from neighbors and it is common to see them sleeping in backyards or doorsteps...
