ABILITIES: Snipe at level 1; Snare at level 6
This is a monster version of a praying mantis. It's an awesome monster in the neutral splinter. Having bot "Snipe & Snare" abilities unlocked at a higher level, this monster can be a nice supporter for the team with its ranged attack. Its "Snipe" ability helps it to target enemy monsters with ranged, magic or no attack that is not in the first position which unlocks at level 1 with 1 card and its "Snare" ability helps it to remove the flying ability if attacking a monster with the flying ability and can't miss that attack which unlocks at level 6 with 100 cards.

Right now, my Mantoid is in level 1 which offers me 2 ranged attacks, 2 speed & 5 health with "Snipe" ability and it needs 6 mana to play.

A Brief Info About The Match
The battles mana cap was 30 with the "Standard" rule where I used the death splinter for the match and my opponent used the water splinter against me.
My Lineup.
I had my Haunted Spirit in level 1, Phantom Soldier in level 1, Prismatic Energy in level 1, Mantoid in level 1 & Furious Chicken in level 1.
And my opponent had his/her cards as Frozen Soldier in level 1, Spineback Turtle in level 1, Medusa in level 1, Centaur in level 1, Enchanted Pixie in level 1 & Cyclops.
Let me talk about cards that I used in this battle.
Summoner: ZINTAR MORTALIS (RARE Death Summoner)
I think Zintar Mortalis is the most used summoner in my splinterlands journey so far although I stopped using it in the meantime when I started playing with Epic & legendary summoners. But I can assure you that this is a fantastic summoner for the death splinter.
My ZINTAR MORTALIS is in level 1 and he offers -1 melee attack to opponent monsters.
He needs 3 mana.

No 01: HAUNTED SPIRIT (RARE Death Monster)
This is the melee attacker of death splinter which I use in every battle that I play with death splinter if it's available for that battle. One of the finest monsters of death splinter. I like it's power, especially it's "Heal" ability.
My HAUNTED SPIRIT is in level 1 with 2 melee attacks, 2 speed, 7 health with the "Heal" ability, and this monster need 5 mana to play.

No 02: PHANTOM SOLDIER (EPIC Death Monster)
I still remember those days playing battle with death splinter where there was this monster. Then when I added this monster to my deck, I could see its beauty... the beauty in its action. With "flying" ability, this monster is the best fit in the earthquake ruleset and it has so nice powers.
My PHANTOM SOLDIER is in level 1 with 2 magic attacks, 3 speed, 8 health with "Flying" ability, and it needs 8 mana for the battle.

No 03: Prismatic Energy (Rare Neutral Monster)
If you're looking for a very nice and cool monster in neutral splinter with some cool power then I'd suggest Prismatic Energy for that. This monster can get very handy for its big health and especially the magic reflect ability.
My Prismatic Energy is in level 1 with 1 magic attack, 3 speed, 9 health with the "Magic Reflect" ability and it needs 8 mana for the battle.

No 04: Mantoid (Common Neutral Monster)
This is a monster version of a praying mantis. It's an awesome monster in the neutral splinter. No 04: Furious Chicken (Rare Neutral Monster)
This is the card that I use when there's a slot left but no mana left. I mean its service is great for free I suppose. Right now... I can't imagine playing a match without this card.
It's like the chicken that lays the golden egg. It provides great support with its counter attack. With 0 mana... it's just amazing.
My Furious Chicken is in level 1 with 1 speed, 1 health and It needs 0 mana to play.

- In my personal opinion... Mantoid is a nice fit for the ruleset.

For the special ability of my summoner Zintar Mortalis, all opponent monsters with melee attack lost +1 attack each although only one monster from the opponent lost 1 attack power for this ability of my summoner, and for the special ability of my opponent's summoner, all magic attack monsters of the opponent team got +1 magic attack each. Then the most speed holder, my Phantom Soldier started the battle with its first attack on opponent teams Frozen Soldier, and then the Prismatic Energy also attacked the same monster, and together they killed the opponent's tough melee monster at the very beginning of the battle.
While I lost only two of my monsters that too after doing a great job, my opponent team lost most of the monsters and only had two monsters at this moment while only one monster had the ability to attack that too with low speed and the other one was at the front side with a ranged attack.
Then my Mantoid attacked and killed that only attacker that my opponent team got and then my Prismatic Energy attacked and killed the last monster of the opponent team and made me the winner of the battle.
It was an easy peasy battle for my team and all the monsters of my team did well in attacking their targets. And the theme card in my team, my Mantoid didn't get a single shot and only attacked and killed opponent monsters.
The battle got finished at the end of round 7 while my team still had three monsters alive. It was indeed a fantastic battle that my team fought.

I really do need to use more neutral monsters.
And yes, Zintar is AWESOME. I've also been playing more with the newer legendary summoners...and I do love them, but tend to come back to those I trust most. (Zintar!)
