Life vs Life

This is a mirror matchup between 2 life splinters with varying approaches in selected strategy. Artgin's choice of summoner is General Sloan which gives bonus 1 ranged damage to all ranged friendly monsters, while Usujind has selected Ilthain which has the buff to give all friendly monsters an additional 1 speed and the return fire ability.
The mana cap is set at 28 and the ruleset is equalizer giving all monsters initial health equal to the highest hp monster in the board.

The lineup

The match is centered on ranged vs sneak melee lineup. Let's see who will prevail here.

The first team has chosen Chaos Knight in the first position which is a great tank given its shield ability protecting it from melee damage. Thunderbird is a ranged monster that has the flying ability which grants it 25% bonus evasion, Time Mage has the slow debuff reducing all enemy monsters speed by 1. Pelacor Arbalest will strike twice each round due to its double strike ability. Grenadier is another ranged monster that does double damage to enemies that does not have an attack the ability is called opress. And completing the roster is the Lenmaster a ranged attack monster that despite having no abilities has high speed and is only 1 mana cost to summon.

The second team is composed of Chaos Knight, and identical choice in tank. Celestial Harpy that has flying and oppurtunity targeting monsters with lowest health, Stitch Leech has the sneak ability attacking the backlines. Time Mage has similarly been used in this game to provide speed debuff and magic damage. Uraeus is another sneak attack monster. And lastly Dumacke Exile who has high speed and armor together with its ability to attack the last position monster.

Round 1

The first casualty of the match is the Lenmaster as it was unprotected by sneak attacks coming from dumacke exile and the uraeus. Usujind gains an early advantage.

However, he immediately lost the Chaos knight removing any lead he had from the opening turns. The combined attacks of the pelacor arbalest and the chaos knight quickly erased the armor and health of Usujind's tank and could spell trouble as he does not have a legitimate tank anymore and the celestial harpy although with flying does not really have any armor or shield ability.

Round 2

The Grenadier is the second monster to fall from Artjin's lineup. The sneak attacks of the Domacke Exile combined with opportunity attack of the stitch leech is proving to be very effective in the early turns dishing out sufficient damage to give Usujind back the lead.

Artgin's is now on the ropes as his pelacor arbalest was sent to the graveyard by the Uraeus. There's not enough backline protection in his lineup and these last position monster attacks are leaving him very vulnerable. It's 4 vs 5 favoring Usujind.

Another monster eliminated from contest this time with the celestial harpy dealing the final blow to the armorless and 1 health Chaos Knight. Aside from the regular attacks, Ilthains buff of return fire is dealing insane amounts of unwanted damage and is chewing through the health of Artgin's remaining monsters. The thunderbird now moves to first position where it is unable to attack.

Round 3

On the third turn, the Dumacke Exile dealt a killing blow to the time mage. This will be a walk in the park now given that first teams lineup is down to 1 monster, and worse its even unable to attack.

It is over as the Uraeus secures the win by eliminating the Thunderbird. It's a good victory by Usujind who only lost 1 monster in this match which is the chaos knight. The celestial harpy still managed to survive even when left with just one health. And the other monsters like the time mage and stitch leech were virtually unharmed.

Sort:

Usujind's summoner had already doomed the opponent's lineup as it was littered with range monsters all through. I think without the difference in summoner it would have been a fairer fight.

Yeah it was a good choice coupled with the sneak attacks.
