Splinterlands Blog 010 - RENTING Tips & Tricks

Use PEAKMONSTERS.COM

  • If ever you are new to the game or don't use third party sites on splinterlands, using peakmonsters is must. It will really make your life easier not only in renting but also in handling your own cards(i.e. renting, delegating and locking). So please learn how to use it properly.
  • Peakmonsters will show the lowest price for different filters and will not allow you to rent monsters on cooldown!

Know your LEVEL LIMITS

  • Of course first is to decide on what league are you planning to grind. Each league has a level limit:

  • Remember that even if you have a level 10 common card you it will be capped at level 4 if you are playing in bronze. That is why we see this icon levellimit1.png . It is important because usually the renting price increases as the level of the card increases.

Always check the STATS of the monster

  • As you can see, the only difference in a lvl 3 and lvl 4 lord arianthus is 1 health. Although sometimes that 1 health determines the winner, most of the time we win by using the monsters with the right ability, positioning and predicting their cards. In this case, a level 3 lord arianthus would be enough for me since it is already equiped with all its tank abilities.
  • In terms of renting price the difference is only 15 DEC but during end of season we know that renting price skyrockets and can even reach up to 10x or more. In addition, these small amount could add up and save you a lot in the long term.

I therefore conclude that renting needs a lot of knowledge to work. You can't just rent and expect to earn, sometimes just breaking even is hard. Especially know that a lo of new players are coming in which are causing the rental prices to increase! Disclaimer: I am happy to see the number of players grow haha it's just frustating to see the rental prices go up while the amount of DEC rewards going down. I think what the developers really want is for us to buy cards instead of just renting. And that's what I have been doing now because I believe that these cards value will only appreciate in the future.

That's it for today guys! Stay safe always and keep grinding!
