Hello everyone! Welcome to my very first post. Today, I am going to participate in Splinterlands weekly art contest. I use Regal Peryton as my reference for my entry. Please bear with me as I am not a professional doing this. I hope you'll like it!
First, I made a sketch in a paper and outlined it as well.
Next, I scanned it and used a web-based photo editor to trace and make a digital outline for my sketch as I am not very familiar with photoshop.
I re-traced it to make it look more clean and close some of the edges.
And this is what it looked like after the re-tracing. I close some of the edges so I can color it easily. I wan to make my life easier when coloring 'cause I'm not a pro lol.
I noticed its colors has gradient effect on it. So I thought, I will just use gradient instead of putting base color etc. as I am not familiar with it.
I use magic tool to select pixels part by part and put gradient colors on it. I colored the wings, body and the tail. For the horns, claws, nose and eyes, I colored it manually and put some highlights and blend it a little bit? I don't know. I tried my best. Don't judge me lol just kidding.
This is what it looks like after coloring. I am sorry I forgot to take a screenshot step by step as I am very focused exploring what to use in the editor lol.
I read in its lore that it prefers living in the mountain and they have beautiful wings when soaring through the sky. I thought of giving my artwork extra details to make it somewhat majestic.
And this is the final result.
