Defeating Lord Arianthus, an arch enemy

in Splinterlands2 years ago (edited)

My arch enemies are mostly categorized as expensive cards that I cannot easily afford, cards I don't have myself, and that I have a history of losing to when faced off in battle.

Lord Arianthus • Neutral monster

In this category of "evil" badasses is amongst others the level three "Lord Arianthus" currently priced at around 500$.
I cannot begin to explain how much I enjoy getting the upper hand on his evil lordship, as can be witnessed in this battle I encountered today, where I met a

As it turned out, Defeating Lord Arianthus can be managed if you have a slice of healing and some ranged attacks at hand. Something I managed with my line-up of Life, Dragon, and Neutral Splinters, two healing cards plus a tank healer.

Equalizer Ruleset

When playing the "Equalizer" ruleset, it is generally considered a good strategy to use a lot of healing, since all cards have a lot more life, to begin with than usual, as all monsters are lifted to the highest level of health.

Equalizer battles tend to be rather long stretched affairs with the winner being the one with the most concentrated damage and best healing.

Now, back to the game at hand... In a slow-winding, easy-going twelve-round grind of a game, I managed to slaughter the entire opposition without losing a single card:

I read all comments and love the strategy talks on specific rule-based battles.
