When it comes to brawl battles, I play in a Wild league and the battle I would like to feature today comes straight out of the classic Chaos Legion era. The cards played here are all from the Chaos Legion Core, Reward and Riftwatchers set. This is how the ranked battles were played prior to Rebellion and Conclave Arcana sets.
Ruleset

In this brawl battle we have a fairly high mana ruleset where forty six mana is available so a six mana legendary summoner like Astral Entity definitely makes sense. Also we have three splinters available to us: Fire, Life and Death.
This is a triple ruleset battle Weak Magic, Healed Out and Blood and Sunder. Since we have a week magic in my view it makes sense not to use magic monsters. Also because there is no healing I am not going to use any triage or self healing monsters.
The Strategy
My strategy for this battle is to bet on speed and evasiveness from the Astral Entity summoner. The speed bet is my tank Pelacor Deceiver that has a base speed of five, flying ability that gives it twenty five percent chance to evade the melee or ranged attacks as well as the backfire ability that would deal damage to the opponent every time he misses.
I use Queen of Crows to slow my opponent as well as to nerf their ranged attackers. Additionally Queen has Return Fire ability that returns half of the ranged damage to my opponent if they do happen to hit the Queen.
I also have Meriput Slinger that also slows my opponent. In addition to trying to evade and backfire my bet here is on a lot of damage output so I feature another card from the Riftwatchers mini set: Raa. Raa deals four ranged damage twice per turn. Silent Sha-vi is also a pretty good damage dealer with his four sneak melee damage as well as Soul Strangler that deals four damage and poison to my attackers.
So a combination of speed, evasiveness, backfire and a lot of damage is my strategy for this brawl battle.
The Battle
Link to the battle
Here we have a classic Conqueror Jacek versus Astral Entity summoner matchup. Conqueror Jacek is usually a bet on speed and luck and Astral Entity is a bet on evasiveness, resurrection and in this case lots of powerful strikes.
While Jacek gives my opponent a boost of plus two speed, on my team I have two monsters with slow so that evens out the speed to the base speed of all monsters on the opposing team. Still they are pretty fast monsters and I have only two monsters that are faster than my opponent monsters. Let's see how this will work out...

In the first round we were able to take out their backline monster but their Djinn Inferni was able to take out our Soul Strangler before it was able to fire a shot. Soul Strangler was resurrected by Astral Entity, but that is bad news as it didn't fire and now our only resurrection has been used up.

Second round was not kind to our team we lost our tank and one of our main damage dealers and another of our monsters got poisoned. We were able to take out their tank and their reach monster so that is good. Still at this point it is really hard to tell who has the lead and it seems that this can go either direction.

Round three have gone a bit better for us, it seems that we are back in the lead after taking out two of their monsters. Our Meriput Slinger is going to be taken out by poison at the start of round four, but it seems that we should be able to strike first with our Silent Sha-vi at the start of this round and next one which should be enough for the victory.

Turns out I didn't take into account our Meriput Slinger Redemption ability once Meriput got poisoned and died it dealt one damage to the Djinn Apprentice on the enemy team which took it's health down to only four points, so our Silent Sha-vi was able to take it out with a single strike:

This brings us an important victory in a tier five brawl:

Not a great pick his gladiator card, and you also had definitely way more health on the front!
