Cuando era pequeño me encantaba rebuscar entre los cuentos y comics de mis hermanos mayores para llevarme uno a la cama y verlo hasta que el sueño me ganaba. Los cuentos es la primera forma de viajar. Viajes al pasado, al futuro, a otro mundo. En la localidad de La Línea de la Concepción han colocado un cuento en el parque. No hay letras ni palabras, solamente una escultura y un mural dibujado en un muro de hormigón. Pero los niños lo ven y rápidamente dejan volar su imaginación.
When I was a child I loved to rummage through my older brothers' stories and comics to take one to bed and watch it until sleep overcame me. Stories are the first way to travel. Journeys to the past, to the future, to another world. In the town of La Línea de la Concepción they have placed a story in the park. There are no letters or words, just a sculpture and a mural drawn on a concrete wall. But the children see it and quickly let their imagination run wild.
Con esta escultura y un magnífico mural aparecen cientos de historias con miles de principios y miles de finales. Por cada niño una historia bonita y feliz. Posiblemente el protagonista sea el mismo, un caracol aventurero.
With this sculpture and a magnificent mural hundreds of stories with thousands of beginnings and thousands of endings appear. For every child a beautiful and happy story. Possibly the protagonist is the same, an adventurous snail.
Su amiga o compañera de viaje es una niña que escribe en el diario o mira en el mapa de un antiguo manuscrito el camino para encontrar a la familia de caracol. Son caracoles especiales. Tienen la misión de salvar el planeta llevando unas plantas en peligro de extinción a un habitad ideal para ellas. Amantes de las plantas pero lentos. Por otro lado tienen habilidades especiales que le ayudarán a terminar la misión encomendada. Tienen la protección de su caracola y suben pendientes verticales.
His friend or travelling companion is a little girl who writes in her diary or looks at the map of an ancient manuscript to find the snail family. They are special snails. They have a mission to save the planet by bringing endangered plants to an ideal habitat for them. They love plants but are slow. On the other hand they have special abilities that will help them to complete their mission. They have the protection of their conch shell and climb vertical slopes.
Pero necesitarán aprender otras habilidades como navegar por los mares o cruzar fronteras que no deberían existir.
But they will need to learn other skills such as navigating the seas or crossing borders that should not exist.
Seguramente todos los finales de los más pequeños serán bonitos encontrando un lugar idílico donde plantar las variedades botánicas en peligro. Donde crecerán y reproducirse llegando a convertir la tierra en un vergel.
Surely all the endings of the little ones will be beautiful, finding an idyllic place to plant the endangered botanical varieties. Where they will grow and reproduce, turning the land into an orchard.
No hay nada como la imaginación de los niños. Leámosle cuentos desde pequeños y ellos seguirán con la pasión y la ilusión de las historias infinitas.
There is nothing like the imagination of children. Let's read them stories from an early age and they will follow with the passion and the illusion of endless stories.
