I agree. I know that 'blogs' are not really a mainstream thing, but some of us enjoy them. I get enough engagement here to keep me happy. Apart from Hive I use Mastodon to follow various people. I am on Facebook, but the feed there is pretty crap. I like that Hive has no algorithm, so I'll see whatever people I follow post, even if it's just once a month. I'm not on Twtr any more. I do use Feedly to follow various blogs.
People can do short format here, but it's a different vibe to other options. I see Hive as an option if you want to blog without hosting something yourself or rely on some corporate platform. There's potential to earn something from it. Obviously it has not really taken off as we would like, but there is competition in various forms.
We've both seen the online world change a lot over the years. I will just do what I enjoy and what I have time for.
