Titans vs Bears Preview

Like I said several times, I am beginning to transition to blogging in this account rather than dadapizza.

Today the Titans play the Chicago Bears in Nashville. After two straight losses after five straight wins, I feel relatively nervous about the Titans going forward. The defense absolutely needs to start playing better. The offense has had it's struggles, but the defense appears to be the bigger issue. Not to mention the kicking game, ugh.

But still, I feel like the Titans are the better team. Unfortunately though, to make matters worse for the struggling defense the Titans will be without star defensive end, Jadeveon Clowney. Clowney apparently has a somewhat bad knee injury, that reportedly might need surgery. I haven't heard any season ending news at this point but it's likely he will at least miss a couple of weeks. Its rough because the Titans traded a disgruntled Kamalei Correa just a few weeks ago, so the depth at defensive end is already pretty poor to couple with the struggling defense.

The Titans did sign former Charger and all-pro cornerback and solid return man Desmond King during the week which should help the Titans struggling secondary AND kick/punt return ability. The Titans released veteran CB Jonathan Joseph after playing poorly.

One thing that I definitely like about GM Jon Robinson is his willingness to make moves when the team is struggling and needs talent. For the past couple of years he has shown he is willing to pull the trigger and make moves, unlike past Titans GMs.

It's going to be a battle of massive running back Derrick Henry, versus the always disruptive and also massive star defensive end Khalil Mack. That will be an interesting and key battle.

The Bears defense in general has always been pretty stout the past couple of seasons.

Bears quarterback Nick Foles played pretty poorly when he played the Titans last season as quarterback for the Jacksonville Jaguars. It's a whole new team though in Chicago and the Titans pretty much dismantled the Jaguars in every phase last year in that particular game.

The Bears seem to be an awkwardly tricky team overall. They have had a mild quarterback carousel. But they are very competitive and appear to really want to win. They are above .500 and everything, so that must be respected.

Personally, its been a long 2020 and a long week and I'm going to have to work some overtime this week. Its going to be nice to hang with my son and watch some good old Titans football!

I'm grateful to just be able to enjoy the day.

Depending on the surgery required it could be anywhere from 3 weeks up to a few months. Keyhole surgery is quick and easy and takes literally a few weeks to recover that is if the injury is not that serious. Happy you can bond with your son watching sport as that is always special and good times.

Wow thanks for that really awesome insight! I had no idea! Yes it's going to be a wonderful day :) we are getting pizza too!

Titans are putting up a fight though.

Yes the Titans dominated! It was not as close as the score suggests lol
