(Almost) Silent Saturday - Six Shots from 2017

I've never been able to fully do the old WordPress blog hash tag, "Wordless Wednesday" because the idea behind it is to simply share photos without explanation (aka, a quick and easy blog post). But since my superpower is overexplaining things is my superpower (it seriously is - just ask my family 😂) I find it difficult not to add at least a little context to my captures. Hence the reason why this Silent Saturday isn't so silent.

And while today's suggestion on my Hive Blog Posting Month daily prompt calendar was again to participate in Caturday, I'm actually looking ahead to tomorrow's Sublime Sunday post, as well as the following Sunday, when I plan to experiment with using my own DDG results as Styles for some photos I've shared over this November.

So instead, I went combing through my archive of unedited photos, narrowed it down to the year 2017 (since that seems to have been my most prolific for photos) and found six that caught my eye. Some of these (like the crow and dragonfly shots) are from a folder that had a bazillion different captures of the same subject, with small differences, and I could never decide which ones were the best (did I mention indecision is one of my other superpowers?). I figured this was a good opportunity to finally get a few of them cropped and tweaked.

And as per my usual FYI - these were taken in the yard of my Durham, NH home with my Nikon, also using my tripod. All were resized, then cleaned up a bit with PicMonkey - mostly the exposure and sharpness, but with a few other tweaks like vignette filters for the corners here and there.

Oh, and speaking of #HiveBloPoMo, it's been forever since I've asked - for those of you participating, how's it going? Hard to believe we're already approaching the final stretch - how is it already only 3 more days until December? 😲

I guess time flies when you're watching Hive hit an ATH! Speaking of, I couldn't resist putting this together for the occasion... 😁

Your awesome photos from hard disk drive still rolling in. Well done 😀

LOL! Yep, they do help when I'm doing the daily posting for November & April's Hive Blog Posting Month challenge. And thanks! 😊

I'm still yet to discover my passion to take photos. I guess the issue isn't from me but my surroundings arent beautiful compared to the ones I see here lol.

Might I make a suggestion? Any time I'm not feeling inspired to take photos (which happens more often than you'd think, considering the billions of shots I have in my archives...lol), I go out with my camera anyway and look for things to take pictures of. You might be surprised at what you find, and how it ignites your passion. 📷❤️

Haha got it. Thanks
I will try it out

Angeles are looking so beautiful. You have captured dragonfly photography are beautifully. Much earlier collection but awesome photography.

Wow this is lovely and Beautiful, I love every part of it.

Those are gorgeous!

my superpower is overexplaining things is my superpower ... I find it difficult not to add at least a little context to my captures.

Umm... somehow I see a little of myself here...

And then we wonder why, even over the ether, we connect? 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Another superpower of mine is apparently only see typos/weird phrasing in my posts when someone else quotes them. 🤣

Should be...

But since my superpower is overexplaining things is my superpower

And yes, two peas in a pod are our brains. 😂

You explored round town during the weekend, keep exploring buddy

Oh, by George! Those are no-talk photos! If you posted those, I wouldn't need words, although I would want a few! :)

I am doing good so far. I am still plugging along, making it by minutes every day. I have to do everything else before my free time is available. LOL

This has been fun!

What do you mean about 2017 in that photo, is it taken from that year?
But the photos are very interesting, especially on the black bird like a crow, very cool, if the photo is from 2017, then it is an extraordinary photo in my opinion. 🤗🤗

Yes @xoxois - all the pictures in this post were taken in 2017. Back then, I was in the habit of taking at least 50 to 100 shots per day, and by comparison very few ever made it off my hard drive. Every now and then I go back through to finally get some posted. And thank you very much for the kind words. 😊

50-100 photos in a day, that's a very good job, I might not be able to do that much.
However I am amazed by your photos, from 2017 until now and the color contrast you get is still trending today.
Thank you also for your kind response, I hope you have a nice day. ❤❤
