Did anyone believe or expect? - when we met the New Year 2022, that such a terrible event can happen again, which seems to have remained in the distant past !!??? For our family, 2022 was a great year, when my daughter Victoria was about to turn 18! Dreams, goals, plans...
War... Our grandfathers and grandmothers remembered it and believed that their grandchildren would never know what war is!!!!!
My parents were small children when the Second World War ended... Many decades have passed since then and I lived in an incredible state of gratitude to God for the fact that we live in a blessed country where people will never know or see war! My children are a blessed generation that will live and create beautiful things in their long-suffering Ukraine...
I was a person who never dreamed of emigrating to another country... But the morning of February 24, 2022 came. My Victoria's first coming-of-age day started with a phone call: the war has begun!!!!!
As if a huge avalanche covered us... Ruined our small cozy, but as it turned out so fragile world of stability and reliability...
What will happen, what now!!?? After all, only a few months ago we moved into a new house, which I dreamed of all my life!!! Which is located in a beautiful pine forest, away from the noisy city. I was finally going to start the calm, comfortable life that my soul longed for... Playing sports in nature, building relationships with neighbors, walking in the small town of Bryukhovychi, where we moved in the hope of being happy.
For a week, my daughters and I lived as if in a terrible dream, listening every minute to the news about the terrible murders and destruction that took place just a few hundred km from our city... Is it true... is it true... is it true... ?????? - only one thought existed in my head... What to do, how to act?... Stay or go?
My nervous and endocrine system, exhausted by the recent illness and death of my father, seemed to have gone completely insane! For the first time in my life, I started taking pills for my heart, because the pulse reached more than 120 beats per minute in a calm state!...
After all, I have two daughters... I am responsible for their emotional and psychological state... Darynka is only 11 years old. I must be healthy... My brain was working day and night, being almost in agony between fears and doubts... And now circumstances arose which forced us in a few hours to pack up and leave our new home, where we left our favorite cat EdGray under the care of neighbors and friends.
On February 28, we were taken to the Hungarian border, where we crossed into the territory of Hungary with a frightened crowd. Thus, on March 1, we found ourselves in the city of Budapest, where we spent two weeks among the ancient giants of buildings, coming to our senses and gradually coming to terms with the terrible reality...
We lived this year as if not one year had passed, but ten years. March 1 marked the start of our #TheLongestTrip, which has already been going on for 10 months!
We went to an unknown place, for an unknown amount of time... We didn't know if we would have the money to move on... We suddenly lost our footing, our dreams, goals and plans, and we had to find new ones to meet joyfully new day!
Everywhere we were - there was the sea... Like a good wise reliable friend who sang his soothing song to me: everything will be fine...
I used to like to say: geography is best learned by traveling... Well, for 10 months, we visited more than 20 cities and historic villages in six countries.
We saw the real life of the people, their traditions and mentality... We saw the truth that there are problems and poverty everywhere... Often, behind the beautiful pictures of famous cities, completely different things are hidden, such as dirt and disorder... There are countries, where we no longer want to return... But there is a country that we loved the most. There is a city that has become our second home... It is Kemer in Turkey near Antalya. Here we really rest our souls near the Mediterranean Sea among the good giants of the mountains.
We continue to believe in the victory of good over evil! We continue to believe in good people! They say: what you believe in will come to you! We really meet people who help us, we find friends we trust...
We continue our journey, we don't know where and we don't know how long... The main thing we learned during this year is to live in today's moment and thank God for a peaceful sky above our heads! Thank you for a roof over your head, for water, for food, for the sun and the sea...
After all, we often stopped noticing these valuable things that we had, on the way to new achievements!
We are entering the New Year in a completely different way than before! Completely new! Without a traditional Christmas tree, but in a country where palm trees grow! Without snow, but on the seashore!
I want to share with you the wisdom that 2022 gave me: if you lost something, be vigilant! God has definitely prepared something new for you! What you now need more for your development! Find it and be thankful!!!

very poignant and heart breaking that you have had to make this trip, I have followed it and will continue to do so, until the day you take us all back home to Ukraine. Enjoy the moment, you are safe, your beautiful daughters are safe and are learning about life.

When a person reaches the age of 18 years, he has many dreams and that is to see dreams. After that, if a person works hard day and night, he can achieve all his dreams. You and your doughters looks so cute and beautiful. Congratulations to your new home. Rassia and Ukrainian war have disturbed people all over the world. Wasn't the war a blessing in disguise? You've been to places you didn't expect to go and did things that were out of your plans. It taught you new experiences of life, and most especially, you become tougher for your two daughters.
