Hoy les comparto este post a cerca de la Ciudad de Mérida de Venezuela, es conocida como la Ciudad de los Caballeros, es la capital del Estado Mérida, está rodeada por la Sierra Nevada y el Pico Bolívar (4987 Msnm), es el más alto del país. Su actividad principal es el destino turístico así como la agricultura. Su clima es de montaña, con temperaturas por debajo de 19°C, en los meses de Julio – Agosto se puede apreciar las nevadas que se dan sobre la cordillera y los picos.

La ciudad de Mérida es relativamente pequeña y fácil de caminar, es estrecha y alargada señalizadas por ocho (8) largas avenidas que unas suben y otras bajan, adicional a ello el Rio Chama uno de los principales del Estado, cruza la ciudad en ella se encuentra un gran puente que a través de él se conectan con otras ciudades.

Another option to visit in the center is the Los Chorros de Milla Zoo, it is a natural park where you have contact with nature and you can enjoy the waterfalls of the Rio Milla.
Una de las atracciones de fácil realizar es el paseo en el centro colonial, es su casco histórico, su estructura es alusiva a la época de la colonia, está conformado por monumentos, plazas, museos y edificios públicos, es sencillo de recorrer, todos se concentran alrededor de la Plaza Bolívar, de igual forma está el Rectorado y varias sedes de la Universidad de los Andes un gran emblema, también se le llama la ciudad de los estudiantes ya que un gran número de venezolanos de diferentes estados la toman como sede para sus estudios universitarios. Otra opción para visitar en el centro es el Parque Zoológico los Chorros de Milla, es un parque natural donde se tienen contacto con la naturaleza y se disfruta de las cascadas del Rio Milla.

Otra opción en la subir a los picos o poblados a través del Teleférico, se encuentra en el centro exactamente en la plaza las heroínas, poseía cuatro estaciones, estuvo un buen tiempo cerrado por remodelación y restauración, fue abierto al público a partir del 16 de octubre del 2016 ahora se conoce como el Mukumbarí, esto en honor al nombre que dieron los primeros pobladores a las montañas de Sierra Nevada, y cuyo significado es “lugar donde se posa el sol”, ahora cuenta con cinco (5) estaciones. Tengo pendiente conocer estas nuevas instalaciones.

El otro es el de Sierra Nevada se puede tener acceso Por la carretera Trasandina, si se va ascendiendo desde la ciudad de Mérida corresponde al Sur, se pasa por los pueblos como Tabay, Mucuy, Mucubají, Mucuchíes hasta llegar al Pico del Águila, se disfruta de una gastronomía así como de una gran variedad de artesanía además de disfrutar de las bellezas naturales de cada población.
