Today I share a new piece in my stack this tiny 1 gram gold maple leaf was purchased a month or so back for ,95 dollars cad it was really steep but at the time I did not have any gold in my stack and also this coin is super tiny so I figured it might be a neat edition, it's so small it's hard to see the writing on the coin.
The face value is only 50 cents that's some straight up disrespect!
I know this coin comes from larger sheets I think it's a neat concept but I would not go for the sheets the premium is way too high and the ability to brake down into individual grams seems a little much, the 1 oz 1/10 sheets seeem more reasonable but again they come with a high premium I think one would be better getting a bunch of fractional gold in bulk to score a better deal for those that are looking for that extra flexibility when selling, I actually got me a nice gold piece but I will get around to sharing that with y'all at a later point, hope you stick around.
I actually made a miniature coin stand for this gold coin.
I already had the coin stand design I just had to scale it down and click print,
Unfortunately I ran out of black but clear filament is not too bad.
I ended up finding a mini knit dino to hold the tiny coin, they look pretty great together.
That's all for today's post thanks for stopping by your support is truly appreciated
I always love your stacking collection I must confess. You always make good choices
Wow you have a bargain. I seen these very small gold coins, 1 grams selling for $120 !
That's wild
So cool. Where do you buy these? I remember the post office having coin sets but I can't imagine them carrying a bunch of gold. Is there a mint store somewhere?
Post office might have some small gold coins but basically all the coins they will carry have a super high premium limited edition type deal, you want to look for a bullion dealer if you Canadian silvergoldbull is pretty good online store for silver, gold and platinum
I will check out silvergoldbull. I feel I should use everyone at least once to see which ones have better terms, shipping, etc.
Best places are the larger sellers, most times...
Check my post below!
Cool idea! I need to print some coin stands! Love the tiny stand!
Oh no way you got a 3d printer too that's awesome, if you have a hard time finding an STL I got you
Awesome. I'll let you know. And yeah, I've been using CAD for many years and printing for a few years. Mostly for work, but, some personal stuff. Here's a pinpointer holster for my metal detector I did.
That's awesome I'm hoping I can get a 3d printer at work , going to try to convince them with some prototypes I whip up for the Company
I never really got one of these cute sized Maplegrams since the relatively premium is way up there. I was always able to afford a minimum Tenth oz. Gold until I got one as a gift. The only issue is these can be easily lost if dropped, so keep them in their card at least. 🍁
Yeah it's a rather high premium, it was a one off deal for me I would not go for more of these, since getting that coin I actually got a full size gold maple, it was a struggle just thinking of all the silver I could get instead but I figured I need to diversify and fractional golds premiums can be pretty rough
Great Grab!!
GOLD Stacking is addictive, you need to follow my general path LOL
I made a post, Fractional Gold Stacking Guide, it's in my blog, but I'll
just post the bare essentials here for you! I have also spot checked this
data at least twice after the initial post, and it has held true. In other words,
there is a sweet spot between low(er) Premiums and Larger Size coins/rounds/bars.
I even used this guide to purchase a wonderful 1/4 ozT Gold Maple, $371 at the time!!
Another cool thing I did for Gold Grams, well, some of the bigger retailers have what
I call "SCUFFS" which are scratched, scuffed, or otherwise less than perfect grams. I bought
quite a few of these, they also make great gifts! I'm thinking I paid around $55/gram U$D.
Sometimes even a combi-bar (VALCAMBI) might get busted apart so they sell the pieces.
I hear that if I was going for that type of thing than the 1 oz 1/10 bars would be the go to , the premium are not as bad as most options
Keep Stacking!!
