Saturday was a bit of a blur for me. I couldn't sleep well Friday night, so most of the day was spent napping in my recliner. It was a rather nice day outside, so I was rather disappointed in myself for not getting outside more.
I really do need to start taking the sleep medicine the doc has prescribed for me. Typically I don't take it because it really does put me out and for some reason I just don't like the feeling of not being able to wake up if "something happens".
This may be just an anxiety thing, leftover from my military and civilian working days, but it always served me well. Although it is probably why I am aged physically beyond my years.
Anyway...
I have been on a bit of a diet lately and although not a total success, I try. Saturday night was homemade pizza night.
The wife and I hit the kitchen. I mostly stood around like a doof, while she did all the cholling and cutting. But we enjoyed the chatting and joking around. After a bit, I went outside for some sun since I hadn;'t been outside much all day.
Taking some time to sit on our back patio is always so enjoyable. Taking in the fresh air, at least as fresh as it can be since we are close to the concrete jungle, and enjoying our flowers.
The wife really out did herself this year with the flowers around the place. We have all kinds. Even a wild flower patch by our shed. I will share some pics in another post down the road once everything starts blooming.
As you can see, the homemade pizza turned out rather good. It tasted even better. We sat down and started binge watching the series PITT. If you haven't watched it yet, think the show ER and 24 together. It can be somewhat intense and I found myself cringing sometimes. So if you have a weak stomach, I don't advise eating while watching it.
Today is now Sunday, MOther's Day here in the States. I will be grilling out for dinner tonight. We have some steaks I plan to put on the grill, along with some other goodies. It will be my first time in forever grillign steaks, and first time ever on this particular grill. I'm a little nervous about it. Steaks aren't cheap these days and don't want to ruin MOther's Day dinner for the wifey.

My son home makes his own brand of pizza that rivals the local Papa Leo's pizza restaurant. No frozen pre-made crust but from scratch baked fluffy and fresh. No going back to the much more expensive take out pizza anymore.

Haven't watched Pitt, then again never was an ER fan either. Probably because I worked in the healthcare industry I just don't find those shows all that interesting or realistic. Good to see you posting brother!

Interesting about the diet, we are sort of doing the same, although not so much a diet as such, more watching hoe much I cook. I am a feeder and we are eaters lol.

I loved The Pitt. I used to watch ER so Dr Carter as an older doctor in the Pitt was a compelling enough reason to watch it. I'm really sucked into medical dramas at the moment - fasciotimoy, anyone?😂
I have never heard of ashwagandwa before. I just looked it up and sounds like something worth trying out.
We watched the first 4 episodes last night. Like you, we used to watch ER and it was interesting seeing him play the Doc in charge this time.
I think might be good for you. It's certainly good for anxiety, stress, sleep. I take an ashwagandwa with B5 and lemon balm and it helps me a lot. It has a bit of a cumulative effect as well so most people start really feeling it in a month or two.
