Hello Silver Gold Stackers of Hive!

And suddenly it's July...

Hello friends.

Well here we are, another month into Hive. But what do you know, ANOTHER NEW BLOCKCHAIN recently forked into existence. It's called Blurt. I dunno... it exists. It is clunky AF, but some stackers are posting there now too. So, Silver Gold Stackers of Blurt?

We shall take over the world, one questionably administered blockchain at a time. :)

Administrative "Stuff"

Reminder:

After leaving Steem it became necessary to rebrand our group. Being Steem Silver Gold on Hive felt a little silly. After some back and forth in our group's discord, it was decided to rebrand to the name Silver Gold Stackers. This way we can be Silver Gold Stackers of Hive. We can be Silver Gold Stackers of Steem. We could even be Silver Gold Stackers of Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Trybe, Weku, Narrative. Keeping the name a bit generic helps if we are ever in a position to move platforms again.

You will notice this @myprecious account is now named #SilverGoldStackers. Our community pages on both Hive and Steem are renamed Silver Gold Stackers. People have also been using the tag #silvergoldstackers on posts related to silver and gold. To replace the #ssglife tag (this tag was used on member blogs about interests outside of precious metals collecting), I would suggest using the tag #sgslife.

Maintaining a Presence on Steem

Somehow @welshstacker is keeping the community support account running on both Steem and Hive. How he does it with a 1/2 pint, a 1/4 pint and a pandemic I will never understand. Please thank him. He does so much behind the scenes to keep our crew afloat. If you are a member and have questions about the @ssg-community account (delegations, etc) please contact @welshstacker.

Membership

We have two new members to welcome to Silver Gold Stackers today. Please say hello to @enforcer48 and @silvergoldhunter. @enforcer48 (aka Leonis) first joined Steem in March 2018. He is a posting machine with a growing interest in precious metals. He likes to buy as close to spot as possible (though I see he was tempted by at least one Star Wars coin. :) ) @silvergoldhunter just joined Hive in May! Aside from his fondness for stacking, I see he is also d-city curious. (@summertooth will be so excited if another stacker dives into d-city). It is wonderful to find PM interest in both veteran and new blockchain users.

Becoming a Member

As you can see, this graphic STILL needs to be updated. However, the path to membership on Hive remains the same as on Steem.

1. Post about and be interested in collecting precious metals (silver/gold).
2. Find current members via our tags, our community page and our discord. Get to know us and we will get to know you.
3. Get nominated to the community by a current member.
4. Receive a second from another community member.
5. Membership nominations are reviewed and either approved or denied by the community mods. (Current mods as of July 7, 2020 are @dfinney and @raybrockman.)
6. Reap the rewards of community support and friendship.

If, as a current member, you are interested in nominating new members, please make sure nominees have a track record of posting about metals and of building relationships with community members (ie. consistent posting with a track record of posting about silver and/or gold, replying to comments on their posts , commenting on posts of other community members). The friendships we form will be what sustains our group over time.

PS - If you were once a member and do not see your name on our member list, you were likely taken off of the rolls due to lack of posts or comments in 6 months. If you have returned, please let us know. We are happy to have you back.

As always, nomination posts are maintained on @vgholdingllc's account. He generally posts these on Sunday evenings USA Eastern time.

Community Support

The Silver Gold Stackers community is still committed to providing support to our members through the @ssg-community account. This account is run on both Hive and Steem by @welshstacker. If you have questions about delegating, subscriptions via liquid hive or steem or have "missed a vote", please reach out directly to @welshstacker. Again @ssg-community is available to support only the members of #silvergoldstackers. There has also been talk of rebooting the @myprecious vote for all members. @welshstacker is investigating the mechanics of doing this.
