1888 Great Britain Six 6 Pence

Queen Victoria Jubilee Head
Obverse The Queen Victoria era UK sixpence obverse features Queen Victoria facing left. The early to middle years silver coins show the 'young head', later years the 'jubilee head', and final years the 'old veiled head'. This coin was minted in the later years of her reign.

REVERSE: The reverse shows the royal crown above the words 'SIX PENCE'. An oak wreath with a bow at the base surrounds the main design, with the 1888 date underneath.

😍 #ilikeitalot!😍

Yes, that beauty is real money, too. She has more Silver content, at 92.5% vs 90% in old USA Coins. Definitely stacking material. Except you may want to stack it in a protective display case. Weren't you debating on this coin, a while back, or was it a similar Silver Crown? Thanks for sharing, Silversaver888.

It is the silver crown that I still am negotiating with a seller (a 3rd seller!). The crown is pulling my heartstrings, LOL! I know, I've got to find the right size air-tite for it. Thank you for your comment. It is encouraging to know that you remember my journey to collect 1888 world coins. I appreciate you😍!
Have a lovely day, my friend @cve3, and take care 🥰🌺🤙

Thank You, Tipu.

For some reason I adore the Victorian age fashions and it's social mannerisms of that era.
That Six pence is a pretty one, looks just lightly circulated on the high points.
Another in the 1888 Collection!
Got Strawberries to attend to.
Always, with Love.... 🌺 💝 🌹 💓 🌸 🌼

This tiny coin came at a hefty price. The jubilee head silver crown is likewise pricey. I wish I could get that one. With this collection (a true "collection" as far as it concerns me), I am really bordering on crossing into the dark side. I really just want to have a simple stacking life and remain in the light, i.e., just saving US silver coins. And you, my lovely sis @kerrislravenhill, presented a challenge and thus tempted me with the idea of 1888 collection! 😁😁😁
Have a great VACATION, my lovely sis @kerrislravenhill! Lots of love💓💝 and a million and one Hugs and Kisses 🤗💕💋!

The Victoria Silver Jubilee head is very classy @silversaver888! I believe that this version has a Regal look, and has collectors attention!
An uncirculated 1888 silver six pence..... Nice my friend!😍😍😀

The Jubillee head is the best of the 3 obverse design of Victoria coins, I think. I do not aim to get the other designs... just the year date 1888.
Have a terrific day, my friend @silvertop and take care 🥰🌺🤙.

I agree with you @silversaver888 this is a keeper!T he Jubillee head is also on certain dates of gold sovereigns, a beautiful design! So nice that you Shared!
Take care my friend!😍😍😀

I think it's kind of cool! It also has your numbers (obviously, lol) which I know you like to have. But seriously - if the coin could talk, think of all that it's seen and where it's been over it's lifetime since 1888! There is something about holding something that old that leaves a sense of awe with me. Thanks for sharing sis and have a lovely day tomorrow!🤗🤗💕🌸

I know, right?! 1888!!! Goodness.... and no wonder these coins are priced the way they are. I promise that this will be the first and last old coins that I will collect, and stick to stacking modern current day bullion and US silver coins.
Have a fabulous day and take care, my sweet sis @elizabethbit 🥰🌺🤙, lots of hugs and love 🤗💕.

I love old coins. The history is amazing! Take care sis and have a lovely evening!💕🌸👍🤗

That is a lovely old silver coin! Fabulous piece for your collection! 😃

It is the next best thing to the large crown, which is so expensive! 132 year old coin! Isn't that amazing?!!! Thanks for leaving the first comment of this article, sis @thekittygirl! I appreciate you!
Have a lovely week, and take care 🥰🌺🤙

I have one of them. Of course, it is not a 1888 and it is in a worse condition than yours, but it is a Victoria six-pence... :=)

I have a few more of these 1888, but the large Jubilee head crown is what I really want to have. I just can't afford it. I've been through 3 sellers already, and not one went for my best offer.
