The swan is a migratory species of waterfowl found throughout the Northern Hemisphere of the world. There are four to five species in this region of the world, but swans are absent entirely from Central America, Asia, and the whole of Africa.
Australia is home to one species of swan depicted on a line of collectible silver bullion from the Perth Mint.
It is my pleasure to present a four-part series of articles featuring the beautiful Silver Swan Coins.
The Silver bullion Swan was first launched in 2017. The designs vary each year, much like the Koala and Kookaburra coin series from the Perth Mint. In this coin article series, I will be featuring the Silver Sawn coins in the order of their year of release.
2017 Australia 1 oz Silver Swan BU
The Silver Swan coin has a limited mintage of 25,000 coins made of .9999 fine Silver. It was sold out within two days worldwide due to high demand.

REVERSE
Upclose, the swan is so lifelike that it appears to be ready to take flight off the coin itself. It is a spectacular coin. The design features a beautiful swan swimming on the surface of the water. The water in the design runs underneath the legend of the coin and can be seen up to the rim of the coin. The design includes the inscription "THE 1oz 9999 AUSTRALIAN SILVER SWAN" and The Perth Mint’s "P" mintmark.
OBVERSE
The Ian Rank-Broadley likeness of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the monetary denomination and the 2017 year-date are depicted on the obverse of the coin.

Hello, @saffisara, and happy Sunday to you! You are absolutely right, the Silver Swan is a beautiful bullion coin. I know that it will continue to be an excellent coin to collect through the years. This is the one bullion series that I regret applying my self-imposed standard of "one coin per year limit for any coin that is not the base of my stack", and whereas I can easily blow it away when it comes to hand-poured silver. I really have to revisit my motivations and be more disciplined in my stacking 😁.
I am doing very well, and so busy on work matters. We have only a few weeks to the end of the fiscal year. I still make sure that I keep a well-rounded schedule, even in social media by taking the time to visit with you and others in your blog articles[and my VP contnue to be very low, LOL🤣.] Besides, it is a treat and so much fun! The Silver Swan coins are truly beautiful. I personally think that it is one of the better designed and struck bullion coins that the Perth Mint came out with. Of course, that is just my opinion. I also think that this coin is a notch higher than the kookaburra and the koala bullion coin series. But I have to qualify that by saying that both the kook and koala are two of the best bullion coin series to have as well. I am glad that you like this post, sis. I enjoy sharing my stacking journey with you, and very grateful for the encouragement I received from you great comments. You can certainly look forward to parts 2 through 4 of this series, the next three Saturdays to come.

The Swans are surely beautiful! For a long while, it was the Kook and Koala . After the success of this one, they released the Emu, along with the Dragon bar coin the next year. So now they have 4 bullion design series going!

I really like this series and my only regret is that I did not buy more from the first release.
I know, right?! I have the same regret, my friend! But I never really buy more than one, unless it is a coin or silver that I stack. Perhaps I will have to change that! I suppose many learned from not buying more of the Swan so when the Emu and the Black Flag came around many were buying several of the first year release. Did you?

I did not buy the Emu at all but a lot of the first release of Black Flag.
I think coins like this have a good risk/reward for the small premium you had to pay when they first were released.
The swan was more expensive right away if I recall correctly so it was not this attractive to get more

The Perth Mint puts out so many great coins every year and this is certainly one of the better ones.
