RE: Getting a grip on things

Most cops here don't know how to effectively shoot, or handle guns. They have a laughable qualification process and rarely actually shoot. Once a year. Most of them are not licensed to have firearms as private people, just at work. They do not even use the same hun from day to day so the firearm isn't sighted in for their particular eye. It's laughable.

I don't expect a person who hasn't handled guns to know how to do so...But those who use them should know. Most cops don't. It's pretty scary really.

We had a case here where a guy was brandishing a knife in a mall...A female cop pulled her gun to shoot him and ended up shooting three innocent bystanders instead. Completely missed the guy and hit people sitting in a cafe. True story.

This is extremely frightening situation.

In what way do you find it frightening?

I find it frightening from above-mentioned story about female cop. If this is how they are trained, then we have to bear the brunt of their inadequate training.

Yes, I agree. Most cops, here in Australia at least, have no clue how to shoot properly and then when some pressure is applied their shooting becomes worse again. It is a little concerning for sure, especially as the crime rate rises and they will be forced to use their sidearms more.
