Fishing Day In The Lap of Nature - Fish & Crabs

in Outdoors and more9 months ago

Fishing is a leisurely activity. Many people does it for fun, or for food or to entertain. I saw in movies people walks out with their fishing rod, chairs and other necessary stuff, make themselves comfortable at the water front and throws the bait to fish into the water through the fishing rod and sat quietly, waiting for fish to do mistake. At the end, some get success and many not.

In villages, we do have fishing net for the pond area, but watching people catching fresh water fish from river is quite a fun. Till I reached, they already have a good catch.

We call these pothi fish and generally eaten by frying it in oil and spices. Some people like to add water to make some soup to it. These fish does not need to be cleaned or cut into pieces. What most amazes me is that, we have crabs in our river area and I am not yet seen them neither knew about it. But seeing them in such good number is an eye opener for me.

The river where I used to visit regularly, have crabs that's made me insane. I made multiple visits, took baths, spent so much time inside water, but never seen a crabs. But seeing at the hand of fisherman does give a little goosebumps. I never tasted this, but the local are better aware to treat them better way. Obviously they know how to cook them.
We have very little rainfall this season, and the river has hardly any water. What used to be overflowing during this time, has patchy looks. But still people know how to do fishing and they manage to catch a good number of them.

The area is quite familiar to all, it is the same place, where I used to sat for Meditation surrounded by big boulders and rocks. The river that flows has patchy water content. People use to close the flow to store them at one place.

Like any other time and place, fishing is not an easy job for the local people. They put in lot of effort to catch few from the scarce river water. First they create a dam within river by cutting out the flow of river.

Then they place water moter, to empty the stored water. They carry oil to run this more. In few hours they empty the field.

As the water starts receding, they make use of their special fishing net to catch the fishes. They took multiple turn to get down in water to catch the fishes.

Honestly, our river does not have much depth, still they manage to get good hold of the fishes. They have of all sizes, but not big enough. Few are of 200gms or little more.

It was indeed a good pass time, as putting effort does give a good result. Nobody had expected of such big catch but ultimately, the fishers were very happy, as they going to have some gala tonite.

Peace!!

That looks like an impressive catch and these are more tasty than the ones that we get from market. In my native we get it sometimes but it mostly sells out at the place itself.

Thanks to savan month, they are safe now else there would have been a huge crowd to get them.

Those are good looking fish, and rhe crabs, it's been ages since I last tasted a crab, I missed eating it. Sadly it is so expensive here in our area. I'd love to cook those fish in a tomatoes with a little soup in it. A freshly picked fish like that is good to make as a soupy dish. (人 •͈ᴗ•͈)

I never ate crabs but interestingly, I never knew we had crabs in our river...it is like putting life at risk in river....I can feel the taste 👍👍 with added black pepper ..it will taste much better..atleast suits to my taste..🙂
