Today, I decided to go out and explore the community I live in. We moved here 3 years ago and for some reason, I never really explored the place. It was pretty exhausting but I found some really cool places here. I found a rock that is more like a quarry providing a means of income for people here. It was almost difficult to take pictures here because for some reason, the men thought I was working for the Nigerians government and they didn’t want anything to do with the government.
I eventually convinced them that I was not working for the government and we talked a bit about why they didn’t want anything to do with the government. A truckload of these stones sell for about $21 and it takes about three days for one person to make such an amount of money in the quarry.
Kaduna is a tropical Savannah region so there are definitely a few forests and many trees even close to urban settlements. Anyway, here’s how my outing went today. I hope you enjoy the scenes as much as I did. I really enjoyed my time out today and I hope to explore more places in Kaduna, Nigeria and hopefully beyond.
