What is HiveCast?
HiveCast is a distributed mobile app (dapp) that runs natively on android and ios, accesses only web3 servers (activitypub protocol), utilizes minio seeds p2p and lokinet connectivity for privacy.
HiveCast operates similar to the pluto tv or youtube mobile apps, BUT instead of relying on a centralised source for the streaming media, HiveCast connects to hundreds of different Hive-Tube sites so that you can upvote, comment on, and tip the video/podcast/media creators of your Favorite channels.
Also, as a FOSS dapp, it can be customized any way you wish.

Yes, the media Creators can earn rewards, the people who leave nice comments on the videos/podcasts/media can earn rewards, and the Hive-Tube site hosts can earn rewards too.
Thanks to the Hive blockchain we can even automate subscription payments to the media Creators as well (adios Patreon!).
The HiveCast mobile dapp basically acts as a "Tuner" to thousands of media channels across hundreds of Hive-Tube based websites.

Yes, the ridiculous ads on youtube, the agenda-filled demonetization on patreon and paypal.. These are the things that a simple tuner dapp like HiveCast, connecting to thousands of Hive-Tube sites, can solve. Thank you karinxxl :)

How is this going to work with 3speak if it will at all?
I don't think 3Speak is taking advantage of p2p federated media or activitypub protocol yet. If they would upgrade to Hive-Tube based servers then the HiveCast tuner will support all of their content automatically. They could host millions of channels and pay way less money in hardware and bandwidth.
