Tomorrow 22 February 2022, the long-awaited Hive Authentication Services will officially go live.
We have been testing it for several months with several users and developers actively participating in the beta. I would like to thank them for the awesome work and feedback that has been provided and which has made it possible to improve and refine this project.

We, developers, like to play with numbers and the date of 22.02.2022 (French date format) seemed quite appropriate and easily memorable.
Therefore, starting this Tuesday, February 22, 2022 starting 00:00 UTC, the Hive Authentication Services will be publicly available for anyone to use.
This means that:
- Hive Keychain for Mobile with HiveAuth support will be available for download.
- Hive.blog with HiveAuth support will be released (this concerns the social part only (hive.blog). The wallet part (wallet.hive.blog) is still in the test phase).
- A new version of Peakd.com with HiveAuth support will be released.
- Engage with HiveAuth support will be released
Many other applications still working on integrating HiveAuth will follow soon...

Once again, the combination of the Hive blockchain and this new service should revolutionize the way users authenticate on their applications.
In view of the many phishing attempts that have emerged recently, I can only welcome the release of HiveAuth, which should drastically reduce the leakage of keys or passwords.

Keychain Apps are already pending release. I'll also write a detailed post on how to use Hive Auth on Keychain tomorrow
This is an important aspect of the release... the official release is tomorrow and many sites will be ready by tomorrow but the reality is most users shouldn't expect to have access until Keychain is officially available in app stores (apple/android).
Unless someone wants to clarify this.
This is something we anticipated and Apple and Google already approved the update for Keychain Mobile. Therefore, we have control over its deployment.
Everything should be fine tomorrow!

All the devs I have been working with on this project have put security and privacy as a top priority.
This is awesome! I think we need to examine how we can support follow up proposal(s) looking to set up development projects with potential end-users for integrating this.
Would be neat to have on all sorts of chat applications, Discord, etc to verify that indeed you are the Hive user you claim to be, or for creators who want to have their own community chat somewhere and then auth that indeed those who request access are following them on Hive, subscribing to their page (when that feature comes along).

I don’t want to irritate you, but was wondering if you’d point me in the right direction? I’m building a Play-to-earn word game for Hive. (WIP here https://itsostylish.com/wordgamesample/game6.php) I will add a SQLITE3 DB for user tracking today, but I need to know which is the best way to integrate to Hive? As in who must I talk to? I have Javascript and PHP, but not much Python???
