RE: Generating Media with AI on PeakD Just Got Better

in HiveDevs23 days ago

I would rather see people use their own images, but I guess it's an option. We should not let 'AI' stuff take over. For now it's fairly easy to spot, but it keeps improving.

Sort:

Generally speaking I would like "quality" stuff to take over.

I don't care if someone used AI or not, as long as it is properly disclosed and the content quality if good.

In this specific case we are enabling videos. That is of course a completely different league.
It's not like I can personally create a video on my own. So my choice are:

  1. Don't do it
  2. Do it with AI

Personally I see more value in allowing people to use option n. 2 as the alternative is simply not doing it at all.

The same can easily be extended to images. I'm not an artist, so AI images simply allow me to do things I would not be able to do otherwise.

I don't object to using it for having some sort of image rather than nothing, but there has to be something of real value in the post. Video is a different matter, but then it may be possible to generate videos that present information in a now engaging way. I've not played with that yet. I have seen someone create animations of his hand drawn comics, but that is done as secondary content.

I'm sure there will be further debates about what content has value, as are happening elsewhere online. The best policy is to be honest about how it was created. I'm old school and may mostly stick to traditional methods, but I know attitudes are changing.

Cheers.

Actually we have something in our dev pipeline to tackle this point.
