Sometime ago, my partner began going out for runs with his dad friend on Sunday lunch time. My daughter and I have an easy Japanese lunch and afterward, we start making trips to the central station to take a walk and see shops.
In Germany, shops are usually closed on Sundays, but some at the central station remain open! Bookstores, organic stores, drugstores, variety stores, florists, and other shops we like are mostly open.
We've been making regular stops at the florist, and choosing flowers to decorate our home has become a habit. I tend to pick safe, understated flowers.
My daughter, on the other hand, boldly chooses flowers that are beyond my imagination, based on their appearance, which is quite interesting.
Today, she seemed to have fallen in love at first sight with the texture and visuals of catkins. However, catkins alone seemed a bit lacking, so when I suggested adding some color, she picked pincushions. Both are beautiful plants, but I wondered if they would go well together ...
At home, I searched for a suitable vase, and in the quiet kitchen,I snipped and trimmed the branches, which is my favorite time ... and, they matched in a way.
Last time, my daughter chose a pink amaryllis. It's a flower I once grew from a bulb with my mother, bringing back fond memories. It was a great selection.
It's always a fresh surprise with the kid's magic. I also placed some catkins in a shatterproof metal vase for her workspace. It's a bit chaotic, but charming.
I recently posted that I feel more comfortable with cut flowers, and having flowers in at home is indeed wonderful.
I look forward to start a new week with catkins and pincushions on the kitchen table 😊

いつからか日曜日のお昼にパートナーがパパ友と走りに行くようになり、子供と私は家で手軽な和食のお昼ご飯を食べて、中央駅にお店を見に行くようになりました。
ドイツでは日曜日はお店は閉まるのですが、中央駅の一部のお店は開いているのです！本屋さん、オーガニックストア、ドラッグストア、雑貨屋さん、花屋さんなど、私たちが好きなお店はほとんど開いています。
花屋さんにはこのところほぼ立ち寄っていて、家に飾る花を子供と一緒に選ぶのが習慣になりつつあります。
私は無難で地味な花を選びがちです。
子供は見た目や直感で、果敢にも私の想像をはるかに超えた花を選んできますこれがおもしろいんですよね。
今日は猫柳のつぼみの手触りとビジュアルに一目惚れしたようです。ただ、猫柳だけだとやや物足りないので、色を足そうと提案したらピンクッションがいいとこ。どちらもきれいな植物だけど、合うのか w
合いそうな花瓶を探して、静かなキッチンでパッチンパッチン枝を落として長さを整えて・・・なんと、意外と合いました。
ピンクッションの前に子供が選んだのは、ピンク色のアマリリスでした。母と昔球根から育てたこともある花で、なんとも懐かしく、いいセレクションでした。
子供マジックというかなんというか、毎度新鮮な驚きがあります。子供のワークスペースにも、割れない金属製の花瓶に猫柳を何本か生けてわけました。カオスなのはご愛敬。。
先日、切り花に抵抗が少なくなったと投稿しましたが、お花が家にあるのっていいですね。
