A CONNECTION TO GOD ALMIGHTY

Hosea 2:19-20 And I will betroth you to Me forever; yes, I will betroth you to Me in righteousness and justice, in steadfast love, and in mercy.
I will even betroth you to Me in stability and in faithfulness, and you shall know (recognize, be acquainted with, appreciate, give heed to, and cherish) the Lord (Amp. Version).

The word, "Betroth" means "to contract to any one for a marriage; to engage or promise in order to marriage; to affiance; this is used especially of a woman. The word "affiance" from the dictionary means "Affiance" "Trust; Reliance; Faith; Confidence".

So, what the portion we are treating explains is how God Almighty sees human beings. But the portion is mainly for the Jews, the people who belong to the tribe and lineage of Abraham. Of course we should remember how God Almighty met with Abraham. At a time God Almighty took Abraham as HIS own man. He made many promises to Abraham. God Almighty boldly said to him, I will bless you and make you a blessing. Whoever blesses you will I bless also, and whoever curses you will I God Almighty curse with an everlasting curse.

In the verse we are discussing, God Almighty entered into a marriage engagement with the people of Abraham.
God Almighty made series of promises to Abraham's people.

"I will betroth you to Me forever". God Almighty occasionally uses marriage, the most intimate bond between two human adults, to represent His connection with His people.

"I will betroth you to Me in righteousness and justice, in steadfast love, and in mercy".
The Lord is attempting to explain to us His feelings by way of this illustration: His intense love for His people and the suffering brought on by their disloyalty and lack of love for Him. God Almighty said, "in righteousness and justice", I will allow my steadfast love and mercy to be in abundance.

In other words, I will bethroth you no matter what wrong you do to me. I will always have remnants who will share from my love, mercy, righteousness and justice.

EPHESIANS 5:31-32 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

In this verse, Ephesians 5:31-32, it starts by saying, "for this cause". What cause? For the fact that God Almighty has said it concerning "bethrothal" He will do it exactly as He promised. So, Jesus Christ left His position as second person in the Godhead, then come into this world to join with human beings who rejected Him. He even laid down His life, shed His own blood to pay the bride rites and dowry.

God is a living being, just like you are. God is an individual. More than you, he does not appreciate being disregarded, mistreated, or insulted. For our benefit, God always follows His Word and is not influenced by His emotions.

God does not intend to compel, I mean, force us to carry out His will, rather He makes us willing, He motivates us to do His will. He wants us to voluntarily want to do His will. God doesn't enjoy making us obey His commands or love Him.

God has already taken the initiative and is now waiting for our response. He put his love for us first and it at Calvary.

Naturally, the devil, the father of lies, makes every effort to convince us that God is not deserving of our love. Such a falsehood!

SAY THIS: "I will not let God down because He wants a deep relationship with me".
