A huge thanks to everyone involved in the best music competition! Blessed to have been a part of this. To the founders/creators, you created something like no other. To the musicians... you all ROCK! I saw the post and it seems that some people went and spoiled things. We need schemes to encourage more participation, but making it all fair is hard. I did not participate much in Vibes, but I did a load of entries in the original Open Mic (over 100!). I've always tried to support musicians here and we have some great ones doing original music as well as performing around the world. We need to keep some sort of 'vibe' going to make this a welcoming place for musicians. Hive is not perfect, but other platforms can be frustrating and I'm sure some are seeking an alternative.

I have just read about it - what a shame. I probably wouldn't have made this video if I had understood the intricacies. It was so wild to have won 500hbd for placing first, that is unreal (but, real) money. Even the upvotes (for me) were significant. The HIVE price didn't quite move to where we wanted, but hey all good :) you are right, lots more to do here! Do you use any other alternatives to hive? I am so busy, and would love to, but limited time these days

As you may know, I'd like to have a space here focused on rock/metal and alternative music but it's hard, we don't have enough people who can appreciate this on Hive. I think this is not the right time to create a new community/competition on Hive
I don't think I would have posted this video if I had seen the reason to why! Well, I would have, but I would have changed my opinion and stance. That is a shame... I have some insights from conversations and requests from verbal-d , which is sounds like he was doing that with many people.
I'd love that too, and also, there are lots of awesome communities - after being here for ~8 years, I can say that I hadn't experienced anything like Vibes comp - the upvotes and winnings could have made this platform a potential salary. I live in NZ, and it is crazy expensive, but with upvotes getting close to 100usd and potential winning of 500... it was nuts! Shame it has ended. I wish I had the time to try and recreate something like this with you
Yeah, I don't even know where to start. Also I'm sick of pretty pop mainstream music, I don't want to listen to a bunch of entries like it happens in every music competition 😅 we need someone else to do it.

I feel you bro, as as brilliant as the comp was for 'everyone' who could enter, it was tough to watch over the entries sometimes. Man, you make a good point, when there were people like yourself putting in so much effort with an awesome entry. Remember at the start of this, the comp felt huge, there were big artists from X etc getting involved and sharing things around and then it became saturated with other stuff. We need a rock and metal one
