A student is arrested for issuing death and bomb threats against Konami and its employees
Konami has again received death threats from a young fanatic who issued several letters threatening to blow up the headquarters of the Japanese development company and kill its workers.
A young high school student has reportedly sent several truly alarming messages to Konami's headquarters threatening to bomb and kill all the employees working there. This was not the only case in recent years.
The 16-year-old suspect is accused of having issued a series of threats between 16 and 18 June in the customer service section of an online application store. The Yomiuri media commented that it has not been possible to find out which one.
Another Japanese media outlet, Mainichi, reports that the game that sparked this player's anger was the mobile version of PES, the well-known soccer simulator that is now the developer's trademark. The young man allegedly wrote the following threats: "I will blow up Konami's headquarters" and "I will kill the people who work at Konami".
The student later said that terrorism was possible, even in Japan. The reports that have come to light add that the accused has admitted to these charges while explaining that he was upset about a gambling error caused by connection problems that apparently caused him to lose.
It seems that this anger with Konami would have led him to write these letters, something that is truly inexplicable and that points, once again, to the fact that fanatics are a real problem within Japan.
Directly related to Konami-san and another controversial issue, it was recently denied that the company fired Kojima-san for using the Metal Gear Solid V budget in P.T. after a statement that indicated just that. The gap between creativity and his former company remains.
