So what are the obstacles? Nah! for the hurdle you can read the review here or go play the Sir Lovelot game. xD

Sir Lovelot is the latest platformer game released on March 3, 2021, this game is quite unique in a story where you have to collect gift items as proof of love for a girl along the way. Sir Lovelot has 40 levels that have tons of challenges such as dangerous traps and strange creatures. You can perform several actions such as rock climbing, high jumps, and diving into the water.

Sir Lovelot Story

Sir Lovelot story revolves around a mischievous knight. Who instead of fighting and telling the story of his bravery to others, is on a quest to find the perfect love and in doing so, goes from castle to castle to spend the night with a different Rapunzel. However, scoring goals with these princesses was not easy and the road to their castle was getting harder and harder after every night. There are four worlds to explore as you go from level to level trying to find a princess for the next night and as you progress it becomes more and more difficult for you to collect the flowers needed to score with these princesses.

Sir Lovelot Gameplay

Sir Lovelot sticks to the platformer concept, each level in the this game comes with its own unique challenges and obstacles for you to tackle. This includes enemies, traps, locked doors, and common platforms that require precise timing and quick reflexes to advance in the game. Each level has several secret areas for you to unlock as well as where you can find golden ducks. Apart from these ducks, you can also collect gold coins which are located in several strategic locations in each level. After collecting flowers, you have to find and go to the castle of the princesses who seeing that you have flowers, will drop their hair for you to climb on and get them and spend the night with them. Fuck yeah! xD

However, the knight's happy ending ended right after one night when the princess kicked him out the front door, dammit. And the knight must go to find his true love once again and the cycle continues. Each of the four worlds has several levels for you to complete before placing you on the final level where the giant skull chases you and you have to reach the next princess before she crushes you to death. This chase sequence opens up the next world for you to explore. The levels are sequential which means you have to complete one level to advance to the next, but there are not many problems completing the levels in Sir Lovelot.

Nah! from the very first stages of Sir Lovelot, I sometimes think of a very special title that can be considered the pioneer of the Super Meat Boy genre. While Sir Lovelot brings his own unique mechanics to the game, the core gameplay seems to be inspired by Super Meat Boy, spelunky rogue legacy, skul the hero slayer, and other similar titles. Sir Lovelot features precise jump and move mechanisms based on your input. Your jump is determined by how long you press and hold the button while here, you can also shoot at your enemies to kill them instead of just dodging them. The controls are very tight and sometimes I find them really good as I get past the enemies, killing them and then madly hopping around the level in a stream before crashing into spiky and dying plants.

For death in this game it's not that brutal, especially when compared to other similar titles like Super Meat Boy. Everything you take remains in your inventory and every enemy you kill remains dead even if you die and start at the beginning of the level. Although some levels have multiple screens, even if you die at the last screen, you will reappear at the intermediate level checkpoint instead of starting right at the start of the level. This makes playing Sir Lovelot very easy to set up and less frustrating for those of you who don't have all day trying to complete just one level.

However, due to the excellent gameplay and satisfying gameplay, I replayed most of the levels in the game not because I was too embarrassed by my slow turnaround time but because I just wanted to see how fast I could replay the current level, because I had find some tricks to overtake the obstacles in it. Replay ability is so high here that you can expect yourself to jump back on a level just to play it again for fun.

When you think of a platformer built around the concept of clearing levels as fast as possible with minimum deaths, Sir Lovelot is probably the least punishing title out there. Collections are completely optional and while the game keeps track of your time no gold or milestones are displayed at the end of the level to make you feel bad because it took you a long time to complete the level. If you want to be competitive, go ahead and try to get the best of times, but if you don't want to, the game is less distracted by it and in the end, so are you. This makes you enjoy the game peacefully at your own pace.

Lovelot is a great title and deserves all the praise for showing that not all platformers have to be tough and punishing. If you want something really tough and punishing, there are plenty of options for you out there. But if you want to relax at the end of a long, tiring day with a good platformer, Sir Lovelot is here with the challenge but ultimately satisfying. levels with sharp game mechanics to make you feel good about yourself while helping your knight find a date for the next night. Fuck yeah! xD

Conclusion

Sir Lovelot is a great and beautiful platform game that is both challenging and satisfying. This game is built on a cute concept, you will love jumping around, trying to get your love with flowers and rings. Everything from the gameplay to level design to cute retro visuals is the best. Compared to the competition, Sir Lovelot comes packed with many features that make it easy to manage and fun for those of you who don't normally play such precise platformers.

@hivewatchers oh yeah never know about that. I'm sorry, and if you want to be blacklisted me that's fine because I don't know about it. And I had contacted guiltyparties before when I got a downvote from the spaminator. And he said that there is no plagiarism in this post, I got a downvote from the spaminator just because my account was compromised by the 'steemengineteam'.
