I played that one! Like most C&C games. Always a fan of strategy and shooter. Unfortunately, I never got to play this one to the end. There was a bug in the crack, or the code, or whatever, and I couldn't get past one point, the game froze. And it wasn't good enough to download it another time, let alone buy it.
There was another game that was equally dark and horrifying, Postal. Incredibly brutal and totally senseless, but hilarious.
So many games were like that. I remember not ever being able to finish Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines because of a similar issue - it was released broken, it was patched, then the studio was resolved, and hte game was still in a state where it couldn't be finished... until fans patched it!
That was a fun game! But yeah, it happens often. And rolling back is not an option, it always has to be patched with more code and more bugs.
