This game still has some juice to squeeze out and since I'm one of those players who likes to complete absolutely everything, I'm going to give myself a couple more sessions in Shogun Showdown to finish some of the achievements in the game as well as the secret ending that appears after spending all 7 days killing the shogun. It's worth it because we're still trying everything we hadn't tried before. tested
Everything becomes much more complex from day 6 onwards, where we'll have a reduction in hearts as well as many more waves of enemies to defeat. There's also the possibility of grabbing fewer items from enemies, but I've still found several potions that have saved me from dying a good number of times. The most important thing for me on this run are the weapons I'm grabbing.
I was looking to expand the damage of the usual weapons, the bow and the two swords that allow me to win in the early levels, but once I've done that, I'll have to get another weapon. The double-blade, which can be thrown, is quite good and increases damage every time we defeat an enemy. This is great for finishing off the remaining enemies in a wave, or if we get into trouble with one and need a weapon that deals a lot of damage, we have that one if we finish off a lot of enemies.
I really liked this first test with this weapon set. I even integrated some that I never thought would be useful, like the sword, which apparently has no recharge time and we can use it and recharge it instantly, which helps a lot when I don't have another one. option
I think a good part of this weapon set also works thanks to the poison effect I put on the knives, something that lasts a couple of turns and makes it easier to take down the Enemies, especially those that are larger and it is more complex to find the combination of weapons to take them out of the fight, these effects do the dirty work for me so I can focus on other more important things.
For these runs I'm only using the Wanderer, at least for now, because I think he's the only character who has a useful special ability, which is to switch places with the enemy in front of or behind him if we have one. Some of the upgrades we can buy in the store also offer the ability to add some type of damage to this move or effects like poisoning or cursing. For now, this seems like the best character to me if we want to reach the end of the game.
But what will make the difference will be the entire set of weapons we build as we go through the waves. That is the main mechanic of the game and what will determine how far we go. If we don't have the good ones, or at least some that vary between melee and ranged combat, we will have problems until the end. We have to defeat the shogun, although I must admit that for this fight, the shogun has been the easiest part of the entire journey, at least for me.
The really complicated part comes first with all the waves of enemies that are thrown at you from all sides. Add to that the fact that they are constantly reducing or expanding our maneuvering space depending on the type of horde that comes to attack us. If we are in closed groups, then we will have to make an effort to kill all the enemies with melee weapons, and if there are too many squares, then we will have to do the opposite.
I was able to win on day 6 with this strategy and am finally just one win away from the shogun seeing the true ending. Let's hope that's it. Put this game on my list of completed games this year, although I know that even if I complete it, I think I'll keep playing it for much, much longer, and I might even write a post about why I'm never going to uninstall it from my PC now that I've really gotten to know it.

I think we hold the same criteria for surge, they are fucking hell. I also used to use Wanderer for that ability as well, the trades end up being positive and thanks to that I've come out of games unscathed several times. A key point is also the poison in the knives, very strong your run bro!
I think the wanderer is the character with whom you can go the furthest, the abilities of the others didn't surprise me too much
I played it once for a few hours straight, able to complete the first few regions. They did a pretty decent job with the combat and strategy part. So many different kinds of enemies with unique moves, with different weapons, and you having skills, potions, etc. One can play this for a long time before one masters everything.
Congrats on the victory and good luck on the True ending.
you really have to play this game, I think it's one of the most complex games I've played since loop hero, maybe you needed too much luck to have the right equipment but here you can get to day 7 with just strategy
