Sorare.com | Gallery Restructuring & First Super Rare Card Buy!

in Hive Gaming10 days ago

While I have not been putting more money into Sorare with the intentions to slowly get out, I really picked up the enjoyment of playing this season as some of the changes that were made turned out to be improvements. I earned some more good rewards and actually bought my first Super Rare Card last week...

Sorare Enjoyment!

It does feel like most of the bleeding of the prices of assets is kind of over as Limited now is so affordable to get into (in classic) that it feels like the new Free2Play while Rare is now at an affordable level much lower even compared to what limited used to be a couple years ago. The bar pretty much keeps moving and Super Rare feels like it's slowly becoming the new Rare.

The rewards changes have worked out quite well actually and even though the payouts aren't huge, you do feel that it's possible to win something systematically each week while having a decent chance at some kind of 'jackpot' draw. It still takes a while to submit all the possible lineups if you have enough players in your gallery and selling cards remains a lot harder compared to buying them.

Overall, I would say Sorare feels like it is in a decent spot compared to where it used to be and it provides enough extra enjoyment while following the football for it to be worth it. Right now, I'm trying to grind my way up to a larger player gallery by trying to sell some players using those funds to buy others that I believe are potentially undervalued.

Gallery Restructuring!

I'm not the big trader and have tended to buy/win and just hold only really selling cards that I won that have significant 50$+ values. However most of my focus on is to expanding met Rare Collection which is almost fully focused on the Belgian League even though I'm playing mostly All-Star & Under23 Classic. So I'm trying to sell some of my Limited cards that still have good value using those funds to expand my collection and I'm also keeping an eye out for possible cheap Super Rare Cards with an eye on Next Season or to sell them possibly for more later on.

In-Season cards continue to be fairly easily to get sold if they actually are worth more than 1$ and useful in the game. So I continue to hold those who aren't worth the effort now in the hope they get in a hot streak and become worth more.

I have had a couple of Limited Goalkeepers extra that are playing right now and are worth a good anount which feels like only can do down so I put some on sale and got a good sum from them

I bought Mike Penders 2 years ago with an eye on the future since he was called the new Courtois. Things went pretty quick and soon after he got in goal for Genk, he was bought by Chelsea and loaned to strassbourg where he is putting excellent scores week after week making him a Pay2Win Under 23 card. I did sell him for around 20€ which I'm glad to take now as I don't see myself in a position to really be competitive across the 7 players fielded for top spots.

This is one of those ideal cases where I got a ton of utility out of a player and afterward got to sell him for a lot more. This unfortunately, is easier said than done.

Zion Suzuki, I also bought 2 years agao for 24€ while I was able now to get 11€ from him Still. He is another goalkeeper that lost a lot of utility for me as he no longer plays in Belgium.

My First Super Rare Card

I already wrote about this plan in my last report (Link) and I was mostly waiting to get a 50% off voucherto make the purchase hoping it stayed available. Eventually, a promo came for 50% discount up to 50€ which after selling some of the other cards I was able to use to buy Matt Lendfers

From what I learned, goalkeepers is where the money and potential is at to make good profitable trades in Sorare, especially on the Under 23 goalkeepers. I see Matt Lendfers currently at 19 years old as the most likely next 1st Goalkeeper of Sint-Truiden. I know that the fans like him and already shouted to have him in goal instead of Kokubo. He also got his chance in the cup where he kept a clean sheet and he I believe is in the Under 21 International team.

Looking at how much Under 23 Goalkeepers as Super Rare who play go for 200€ -> 500€ if feels like the 21€ gamble on Lendfers is a winning one as I feel it should be a matter of years before he becomes a player that will play and have results

Other Bought Rare Card

I continue to scout the market for possible cheap deals on players that at that time might not be hot, or are injured but have potential to make a comeback.

Yira Sor: He had been injured for a while but at just 1€ for a Rare Copy while he was on the verge on returning with the option to actually become a starter I could not pass on picking him up.

Louis Fortin: Goalkeeper Dietch has left a really bad impression for Dender and Verrips was injured, so I took a chance on Younghster Fortin for again just 1e as an under 23 Goalkeeper. At the same time it's not that likely that he will play anytime soon but I do believe it's a play with some positive expected value. Goalkeepers afterall remain entry tickets in Sorare.

Zakaria El Ouahdi: He has been injured for a while but is one of those players who always has high scores when he does play and one of the first on the player sheet of the coach if he is fit. He is a premium player and being able to buy him for 7€ felt like a deal that I had to make. I anticipate him back soon and I do see Genk also as a team who have the potential to get in a great winning streak with good play.

Marco Kana: He's now one of the starting Central Defenders for Anderlecht and is holding up good even though his average scores in Sorare remain rather poor. However, I could use a playing Under 23 Defender and most of all he was sold At Max Level which does make a difference and for only 1.43€. So a no-brainer to add him to my gallery.

Michael Verrips: I didn't have most luck with my goalkeepers lately as De Wolf became 2nd goalkeeper in Mechelen while I had 2 copies. So I have been looking out for new options. Dietch was ditched back to the bench in Dender and Verrips came back in, allowing me to buy him for 8€ while he provides very high utility for my lineups.

Tobias Lawal: One of the smart Strategies when it comes down to goalkeepers is to buy insurance also owning the 2nd goalkeeper of a team. A while back, I bought Van Crombrugge for just 3€ (Now 22€). He took over after an injury for Lawal but it's not sure yet who will be the 1st goalkeeper for Genk now that he is back. I kind of assume that Van Crombrugge will stay in goal (as Lawal didn't always look as secure) and maybe some rotation in Europe. So for 12€ I mainly bought him as insurance.

Daan Heymans: I already own a Rare and Limited Copy of Heymans and at just 3€ for a max level copy, I could not resist. He is back after an injury and quickly has become one of the more important players for Genk as he brings a lot of scoring power. So I expect plenty of minutes and regular goals and assists from him the coming months which might boost his value and win me some prizes in the meantime.

Conclusion

If I were asked if I would recommend Sorare now to new players, I actually would say yes but only to real football fans who want some more excitement in their matches and with a warning to keep it low budget with plenty of patience instead of playing the Pay2Win game which more likely will get you wrecked. I continue to play and enjoy it trying to expand my collection already with an eye on the coming seasons.
