I've been playing Sims 4 again for a while now but I started getting bored once my sims had children. I did not expect them to have twins 😭😭 It was so exhausting managing the household without aa nanny, even more so in real life! I needed a break from all the drama and chaos happening in that family. I might blog about it soon to release all my frustrations 🥹 Yes, I know using cheats, mods, or hiring a nanny could make things way easier but I wanted to tough it out without relying on any of those.
So, I decided to play another game from my list of games on Steam. I've always had a soft spot for simulation games, especially the ones where I can build something from scratch and watch it grow over time. So, I picked this Pocket Academy 3.
Pocket Academy 3 is a school simulator game developed by Kairosoft Co.,Lt. It's the same developer who made the Dream House Days, if you're familiar with it. I really loved the Dream House Days so I thought, why not give this one a try.

I didn't even realize I've been playing this game for 10 hours already! But of course I didn't binge it all in one sitting! I have a lot on my plate aside from managing an academy! I also have families to take care of in Sims 4 and a restaurant to run in Overcooked 😂
For this blog, let me show you what my 10 hours of academy management looks like.
To be honest, the school theme really pulled me in. Maybe it's the teacher in me or maybe I just like the idea of running a whole academy all by myself.
My first one to two hours in the academy felt like I was a probationary principal 🥹 I didn't know what I was doing but I kept building room after room anyway. I had to learn how to hire teachers, manage facilities, get to know the students, and keep everything from falling apart. It was overwhelming but at the same time exciting!
After 10 hours of trial and error, my academy now looks like this now:

It just expanded it but it's nowhere near finished. There's still so many things to build and organize yet so little time!
This is the first set of classrooms for Years 1, 2, and 3. Kind of bothers me that the school only goes up to 3 years... why not make it four though??
Anyway, on this side, you'll see the three classrooms with laboratory, music room, prep room, and a restroom. I also included different trees and flowers because they have different uses. Apparently, the pine trees and flowers help boost the students' moods while the small trees and cherry trees help with their arts and music skills.

To the left is the faculty area.

I now have three rooms for the teachers, a nurse room, and the counseling room.
I love the counseling room! It's where you can change the attitude of the students, from being defiant to angelic 😂 How I wish fixing attitudes were this easy in real life! HAHAHAHA
There's also a funny moment when I tried giving a career advice to one of my students, he told me I was “too bold” for telling him what to do with his life 😂
Also, I decorated the faculty area with lots of flowers to help boost the teachers’ moods. Because I believe that happy teachers makes a happy school.
To the left is the pond area.

I’m still trying to figure out what vibe I want for this side of the school. I want it to be a chill, romantic little spot where students and teachers can relax but for now, it’s a mix of chickens, pigs, a restroom, random trees, rocks, a sink, and library 😂 I didn’t know where to put the library so I just placed it there 😂
Btw, this game also has a love story element. Students can fall in love after enough interactions.
During my third year managing the academy, one of my students, Neil Down (yes, I gave them all punny names 😂), asked Anna Sthesia if she wanted to go out with him and she said yes!! Now they’re officially a couple 💕

Of course, there are heartbreaks too. Poor Crystal Clear got rejected 😭

Near the pond is the Principal’s Office. I just needed something to fill that space so I dropped it there.

Next to it is the cafeteria. The students barely reach the cafeteria during break time so I think I placed it in the wrong spot.
On the right side of the Principal’s Office is another set of classrooms similar to the first one. The only difference is this area has a vending machine and a bulletin board nearby.

Close to the classrooms is the bicycle parking area and the arcade. Random placements for now because I’m still figuring things out.
On the right side of the classrooms are the clubrooms and exercise spots like the track field, basketball court, vending machines, and locker rooms.
Managing clubs is fun because they have practice matches and if someone performs well, scouts might notice them, just like in real life.

I also unlocked the train station stairs so students and teachers have a cute entrance now.
Beside the club areas, I added another set of classrooms because the enrollment rate keeps rising. It feels great though because it means I’m doing something right!
Right across from the clubs and the third set of classrooms is the tomato field.
The students help care for it because there’s a competition every year to see who grows the best crops.
At the end of each school year, 3rd year students take their placement tests. Their scores determine their paths after graduation. It breaks my heart when some of them don’t pass 😭

Of course there's also a graduation ceremony! If a student fails the placement test, they end up as part-timers. I still hope they’re living their best lives, though.

Looking back, I think I spent more time managing classes for their special classes and counseling the 3rd year students. I just wanted them to graduate with the best future possible for them. But of course, I spent a lot of time decorating my academy because ambiance matters too.
What I love about this game is how it keeps surprising me. There's always a new event and there's always something happening, like a student getting heartbroken, joining clubs, discovering passions, etc.
Right now, I'm aiming to unlock more space, add more rooms, and welcome more students and hopefully hit a 100% passing rate on placement tests.
I'll update again if something big happens. That's it for this blog!
Have you played Pocket Academy 3 or any similar school themed games?
Also, can you suggest some funny or punny names for my students and teachers? I’m running out of ideas! 🥹

I love that you care about your school. I wish leaders are like this in real life huhu. Planting trees or flowers to boost everyone's moods and to do it without hesitation. T_T
I love the aesthetics of this game. It looks so fun designing it too. But I don't think I will play it cos I don't have the patience haha. Your academy looks so good :D

Wishing the same! Investing in education is really important.
