While in my previous post I was excited earning some easy money with not too many things to do on the job released by Mr. Michael Brand, now we are confronting a situation where, to be honest, I am not sure if it's scary or funny, lol.
Long story short, I got an email from a guy which seems not so excited to hear that his mother in law will come to live with him and his wife for a while, so he thought that the best place for her is to set up a room for she nowhere else but... in a bunker.
As soon as I've read the whole message I started laughing, especially when I've seen him putting so much accent on not creating too much comfort for this one, perhaps he wants to make her change her mind faster and leave them alone again, but as I always pay attention to small details and I try my best to offer top-notch cosiness with the way I restore every room or... bunker, I decided to actually put myself in the place of the mother in law thinking that it will already be a shock for her to find out the place where she will live, so let's better make the little time she will spend there, a decent one.
From what I noticed there is no way of access to the bunker other than via garage or yard, so I guess the mother in law won't meet too often her kids. What a maleficent son in law!

The first impression when I followed the stairs down there it was that I'm going to be put in front of a lot of trash, dirt and cleaning, so I waited no more and took care of the main corridor which was coming with a first door to be opened.
I know it's not wise to make an opinion from the first things you see because they are usually wrong when we are talking about people, but since I found so much trash on the first and smallest room, I expected to see a lot worse even before watching the map from the top right corner.
... is it there anything left to say about this?
The door we just opened got us in front of a 27 squared meters room that I was supposed to turn it in both a kitchen and bedroom.
I mean, I think the thing of being needed to spend a few days in a bunker is quite scary even without seeing everything it hides in the underground, so how I was supposed to listen to the son in low who was requesting to keep this as minimal as possible for a faster leaving of his mother? I keep saying that now I see more cruelty than jokes in the email received.
Not to mention about the light that was almost missing!
Turning the horror room into a place suitable for living a few days was probably the most emotional project so far, but I was twice more determined to put all my efforts and energy in there for a good job. If not for the son in law, then, at least, for the mother. 😃
Perhaps the thing that consumed most of my time was to clean everything, get rid of the trash, spider webs and cockroaches and then rearrange all the food and supplies back on the shelves so everything looks more arranged.
After that, I started purchasing all the things from the list of tasks shared by the son in law, but where I decided to complete everything with a lot more stuff for the well being of the mom and have a few more activities to enjoy while she spends the time deep in the underground world.
I know that probably there it seems like having a lot of information and things placed in a single room, but since this is the main room I decided to add the necessary items for a decent living, as well as a bike and some paintings on the wall for a little bit relaxation when the mom will tend getting into the mood of living in a bunker.
Maybe I should be purchasing a few carpets too and have them placed on the ground.

The next room I took care of was behind the door next to the bed where I created a bathroom with some of the most needed items since I was quite constrained by the lack of space available.
I know that there's not too much, but I think I did a pretty good job so the mother in law won't feel too many things missing other than her kids. 🙁

My work on this job came to an end in the same style as it began - with a narrow corridor full of dirt and trash which represented the other exit/entrance to the bunker made via yard.
I decided to keep this as simple as it was and just get rid of the trash and clean the floor as I did with the other entrance since I didn't really have any ideas of what I could do with the space available in these small rooms.
While at the beginning I felt amused by the email received, when I had to close the job I realized that there is nothing funny in thinking like that about your mother in law and I really hope that this situation can be found only in House Flipper refusing to believe that there are such maleficent sons in law out there.
I know the money earned is double from what I received in my previous post but it's also the moment when I felt like there was no need to be paid for my work there as what I was aiming for was to create as much comfort as possible rather than getting money from this family.
