Greetings to all Splinterlands players! I have been playing the Frontier Format since it started. It was better for me as I find the games more level. A few days ago, Splinterlands posted about a new set of reward cards. I played in the Modern Format again to see how I will do in there. I will post my games in there. Additionally, there are updates in Splinterlands this week.
Splinterlands Updates
1. Conclave Arcana Reward Set
The first update is about a new reward set that will replace the Rebellion rewards. There will be 43 new cards to collect and level up. The post about the new cards is in this link:
2. Holloween Skins
The Holloween skins are cosmetic. They would give cards a new look for the Holloween season. They don't have any effect on battles but they look good. My personal favorites are the Halfling Refugee and Shock Trooper.

**3. New Ruleset: Bloodmoon - all units have Bloodlust
Another ruleset to shake up the meta was added after last night maintenance. Bloodmoon enables all units to have Bloodlust. Splinterlands summoners will need to adjust styles to accommodate the new ruleset.
4. New Legendary Card
Another update is a new legendary card. Loving the Moo archon will be in Conflicts. He has two bloodlines of Elemental and Canisan but based on his lore I think it should be Minotaur and Canisan. His buffs favor offense. Poison and Blast combined are strong offensive tools to end the game fast.

My Games on Modern
I did not do well in Modern losing 70% of my games. My cards are not good enough and I'm not used to fighting the cards in the Modern format. I think I'll go back to Frontier.
Death vs Earth
I'm fighting against a player who also used a Frontier archon. We get to try the new Bloodmoon ruleset. My opponent also has my favorite skin in Halfing Refugee. I already have Rebellion reward cards and bought some cards to play in Modern but then Frontier Format was released and I'm not using these cards that much. I had my usual team with Ujurak Brave in first position. He has a lot of shield and life but doesn't do much damage. I placed magic and ranged attacks behind him. There's also a healer and melee Broken Earth Thug in the team.
My opponent also has a Frontier archon but he chose Earth. He has the cool looking Halfling Refugee in Holloween skin in first position. Unlike me, he has a second tank then followed by magic attacks and melee unit Halaran Huntress with charge skill.
The game was decided by who is faster and who defeats units first. Each defeat triggers Bloodlust and gives an advantage to the buffed unit. My units were faster and did the first defeat of the opponent. This was the key to winning the game.

Water vs Fire
My other win was using Water magic team. I have a strong first position unit. Commander Slade has very good defense. He has five shield and eight life. Then I have three magic attackers followed by two ranged units. My opponent had the Fire team. I think I have the advantage because of my first position defensive unit. I defeated two units after round one while my Commander Slade still has a lot of life and shield left. He barely scratched my tank and already lost two of his units. By round two he lost all units while I kept all mine intact.

Conclusion
There are many exciting updates to Splinterlands this week. I like the Holloween skins but I don't have a lot of glints to spend on them. I rather grow my card collection with the new set. But I also find it hard to play in Modern. I just keep growing my Frontier set cards for the meantime.
