Hello my friends, today I'm going to share with you a game that deeply affected me in terms of story. This game is Spec Ops: The Line, which you can see in the title. Let's start if you are ready!
When I started the game, everything felt very classic and I was progressing by doing missions in Dubai, don't mind the Incubus text on the screen on the login screen. My username may be Incubus on Steam but I'm still Incublus :P I think the graphics of the game are very good, considering that the game was released in 2012, which is 12 years ago. Time flies by so fast. It really reflects the atmosphere very well and draws you into the game with the music.
I'm going to spoil a little bit here, the missions in the game change as you progress and you have to make some decisions. As a result of these decisions, the progression of the game changes. For example, you are asked if you want to use a missile system, if you use it, you kill innocent people and then when you see those people, the characters start fighting. As you progress, your character starts to hallucinate and the decisions you have to make become very difficult. At the end of the game you even decide whether to kill yourself or not. I'm not going to explain why this happens because then I would be doing more than spoilers.
As for the good things about the game, the missions were good and some of them were challenging. One of the missions I had the hardest time with was escaping from a helicopter. I died a couple of times because in a ridiculous way, no matter how fast you run, bullets can hit you. Sometimes you can escape even if you walk slowly.
One of the things I like about the game is that you don't swim in a pool of bullets, but you usually don't run out of bullets. In some games you have so few bullets that you have to hesitate even when shooting. Not in this game. After completing missions, you can refill your bullets from the enemies you kill and some boxes as you progress.
I liked the emotional side of the game a lot. Usually in this kind of shooter games you kill your enemies with a purpose and you don't think about what will happen, but especially after some missions you can realize that your character is thinking "did I make the right decision now?".
The action in the game is also very good. In the beginning you are already in the helicopter with a minigun trying to shoot down other helicopters. This is one of the biggest actions. After that, the action never stops. Explosions, bombs, missiles, jumping from one building to another.
To talk a little bit about the bad sides, the intelligence of the NPCs in the game can be very weak. Even if you walk right up to a soldier, he doesn't react to you. Sometimes they attack you without taking any cover. However, don't take them for easy prey, if you are not careful you will die in an instant. Fortunately, when you die, you continue from the chapter you left.
The lack of subtitles is another problem. If you don't speak English well, you won't be able to understand the conversations and learn anything about the story. There are not even subtitles in English, and I wish there were subtitles in other languages. Another thing I find strange is that some of the enemies speak Turkish. In Dubai, people disguised as terrorists attack and they speak Turkish. This is definitely not normal. I don't know if they have an explanation for this, but I don't think so. All I can say is that it's one of the most ridiculous behavior in the world.
Other than that, I can say that the game is an average game. I'm going to give it 6 out of 10. You can already guess why I'm deducting points. Anyway, let me share some screenshots with you because this might be the game I have the most beautiful screenshots of.

This game is excellent imo, maybe not one of the best of games history, but I think the plot and the twist are something we rarely see in a videogame + the war narrative and the consequences of our actions is something that I loved to see in a game, I would give it a 8/10.
Sorry the pic is in spanish, but the first option is for "Subtiles", even you can swap audio with the last option, so you could play with english audio and spanish subtitles, or in turkish (or other language) with the mod from the image above.

That's not my intention haha, but I wanted to add the fact that the game does have subtitles in case anyone that could be interested in the game and not playing it because of the "lack" of subtitles, that's all!

I tried this game a while ago and it's not bad, but it's not good either, I mean it's like one of those games to pass the time that you most likely won't finish. xD
