(ESP-ENG) Eternium | An RPG game for conquering worlds - Videogame Review!

RPGs have their charm, especially when they're as well-made as Eternium. I discovered this game because it popped up one day on the Play Store as one of the top-rated titles, and honestly, when I saw its art style, it really caught my eye because the graphics are spectacular for a mobile game. You can also get it on Steam, but I've been playing it on my phone, and it runs wonderfully. Basically, it's a game where you can play as one of three different characters, each with unique abilities, and from there, embark on an adventure through mysterious worlds.

Los juegos RPG tienen su encanto y más si están hechos tan bien como Eternium. Este juego lo descubrí porque me salió un día en la tienda de la Play Store como uno de los mejores valorados y la verdad es que cuando vi su estética me llamó mucho la atención porque los graficos son espectaculares para un juego móvil. También lo pueden conseguir en Steam pero personalmente lo he venido jugando en mi teléfono y va de maravillas. La cosa es que es un juego en donde puedes ser 3 personajes distintos, cada uno con características diferentes y a partir de allí comenzar la aventura por misteriosos mundos.

Once you've chosen your character, you'll enter a town square where you'll find various characters, each with a different role. Throughout the story, these characters will help you improve your skills, weapons, and equipment. The game is mission-based; each character will assign you different missions to complete in order to collect rewards such as gold, diamonds, experience, and special equipment not found while exploring the different worlds.

Una vez escogido al personaje saldremos a una especie de plaza de un pueblo en donde hay diferentes personajes, todos con roles diferentes que a lo largo de la historia nos ayudarán a ir mejorando tantos nuestras habilidades como armas y equipamientos. Es un juego que se maneja bajo la premisa de misiones, cada uno de estos personajes te asignarán diferentes misiones para que tu las hagas y así poder cobrar las recompensa las cuales pueden ser oro, diamantes, experiencia y alguna equipación especial que no se consiguen mientras recorremos los diversos mundos.

Do you have to pay to progress in this game? - I'd say no. It's true that there are always offers on things that might be useful, but the reality is that at the end of the day, many of the things you end up buying are to try and reduce the time it takes to perform actions, so it's more a matter of time than anything else. The more you play, the more experience you gain, and with it, the ability to use equipment that can only be used at certain levels. Therefore, you have to be very clear and strategic about what you want your character to equip. Furthermore, all of these items can be upgraded to increase their level and, consequently, their power.

¿Hay que pagar para avanzar en este juego? - yo diría que no. Si que es cierto que siempre hay ofertas de cosas que pueden ser útiles pero la realidad es que al final del día muchas de las cosas que terminas comprando son para buscar reducir el tiempo de las acciones, así que es una cuestión más de tiempo que de otra cosa. Mientras más juegues obviamente la experiencia aumenta y con ella la posibilidad de poder usar equipamiento que solo se puede usar en determinados niveles por lo que hay que tener muy claro y ser muy estratégico con lo que quieres que tu personaje lleve puesto. Además de que todas estas cosas son mejorables para subirles el nivel y por tanto el poder.

One really cool thing about the gameplay is that it's all done through touch controls, and power activation is done via gestures or drawing patterns on the screen; there are no predetermined buttons for each action. This takes some getting used to at first, but you gradually get the hang of it. As for the story, yes, there is an overarching plot that unfolds as you progress through the game. The central character is a villain named Ragadam who is constantly on the run, and your task is to track him down and uncover his plans.

Hay algo muy cool que tiene la jugabilidad y es que es a través de toques en la pantalla y la activación de poderes se da por medio de gestos o dibujos de patrones en la misma pantalla, no hay botones predeterminados para cada cosa. Esto al principio cuesta pero poco a poco se le va agarrando el truco a la mecánica. En cuanto a la historia pues si, hay una de fondo en donde a medida que vas avanzando en el juego se va desarrollando. El centro acá es un villano llamado Ragadam quien constantemente se la pasa escapando y la tarea es seguirles los pasos y descubrir cuales son sus planes.

Once you arrive in these worlds, things can get quite chaotic because enemies tend to swarm around you, instinctively closing in to attack when you reach a certain distance. That's when you have to start casting spells, waiting for them to recharge, and then unleashing the most appropriate power, etc. (Both attacks and abilities/spells can be upgraded). Despite the chaos, the game looks great, the soundtrack is very immersive, and the graphics are quite decent; it's a very welcoming game, if you will.

Llegado a los mundos todo puede ser muy caótico porque los enemigos tienden a amontonarse cerca de donde estás, instintivamente ellos se acercan para atacarte cuando llegas a una distancia determinada. Es ahí donde tienes que comenzar a trazar los hechizos, esperar que se recarguen, lanzar el poder que mejor convenga, etc. (Tanto los ataques como las habilidades o hechizos también son mejorables). A pesar del caos el juego se ve muy bien, la banda sonora es muy envolvente, tiene unos gráficos bastante decentes; es un juego muy acogedor, si cabe la expresión.

In short, it's a game I've spent more time with than I expected because it's so immersive. There are so many things to do, upgrade, and explore. The missions never stop, so you'll always have something to do. I should mention that the game gets progressively more complex and difficult as you progress, especially noticeable in the strength of the enemies and the damage they inflict. So, I can tell you right now, you won't beat the worlds easily. Highly recommended, as long as you enjoy RPGs and adventure. It's available for Android, the Apple Store, and Steam.

En definitiva es un juego al que le he dedicado más tiempo del que esperaba porque te envuelve, son muchas cosas que se pueden hacer, mejorar y explorar. Las misiones nunca cesan por lo que siempre vas a tener algo que hacer. Si te digo que el juego conforme avanza se va haciendo cada vez más complicado y difícil, se nota mucho en la fuerza de los enemigos y en el daño que causan así que ya les digo que no se superan los mundos tan fácilmente. Super recomendado, siempre y cuando te gusten los RPG y la aventura. Está tanto para Android, en la Apple Store y en Steam.
