Recently, my friends alerted me to the new Stand with Ukraine Bundle from Humble Bundle and I was amazed at how many great games you could get for just 40 USD. If you don't know what Humble Bundle is, it's a shop for game bundles that you can buy for way cheaper as compared to buying the individual games separately. Of course, the games offered are usually older. The Stand with Ukraine Bundle is one of their new bundles, promising to donate all of its revenue towards the humanitarian relief efforts going on in Ukraine.
What You Get for USD 40
For 40 USD, you get a whopping 87 games, plus a few books and other game development assets. And some of the games are honestly great - I already have a few of them in my library! And you do it while knowing that you are contributing towards a humanitarian effort, making it a win-win situation. Let's take a look at just some of the games that are offered here.
Steam Store Link: Satisfactory
On the top of the list, you get Satisfactory, a factory-building simulator that has limitless potential. I previously wrote about my experiences playing Satisfactory here: Satisfactory: 42 Enjoyable Hours that I'll Never Get Back. It's a blast to play, you get a good sense of progression, and I wouldn't mind paying double the MSRP to play it. If you love Minecraft and world-building and automation, Satisfactory checks those boxes and will give you a great time.
Slay the Spire
Steam Store Link: Slay the Spire
Slay the Spire is yet another great game - it sparked off a whole genre of deckbuilding roguelikes by its own! As a roguelike, every run is different. You build your deck to fight ever-stronger enemies by trying to concoct crazy combos and combinations. No one run is the same. If you haven't tried Slay the Spire, now is a great time to try it - trust me, my 150 hours on Steam don't lie.
Steam Store Link: Wargroove
If you like Fire Emblem/Advance Wars, Wargroove will make you feel just right at home. As a turn-based strategy game, you mobilize your troops strategically to bash your opponent with your smarts. Although I haven't tried this game other than in a multiplayer match with my brother, I think that the general sentiment is that it's a good game.
Steam Store Link: Superhot
I only tried the demo for this one, but I think it's a pretty innovative shooter. Time only goes forward when you move, so you can't have "slow reflexes" as an excuse for being bad at the game 😂 Excited to try this out when I buy the bundle.
Kerbal Space Program
Steam Store Link: Kerbal Space Program
It's a spaceship-building sandbox that many people have said to be really fun if you like fiddling and messing around with things. I haven't played this personally, but you probably heard of KSP at some point in time in your gaming life as did I. I am definitely looking forward to playing this as well since I love building stuff.
Spyro Reignited Trilogy
Steam Store Link: Spyro Reignited Trilogy
It's Spyro! I played Ripto's Rage on the original PSX and I occasionally think about going back to it - it's a fun 3D platformer with an iconic purple dragon. It's also high on my list of games to play once I buy the bundle.
Steam Store Link: Pawnbarian
It's an interesting take on the turn-based card battler genre that Slay the Spire introduced by utilizing the movements of chess pieces. Don't worry if you don't play chess - it's nothing like real chess. I played the demo and found it fascinating although I think it's probably more of a one-and-done where you play it for a few hours and leave it in your Steam library after.
Say No! More
Steam Store Link: Say No! More
I watched a good chunk of my favorite Canadian egg Northernlion playing this game and have to say that it's a pretty funny game where your objective is to say "No!" more in a world where people say "Yes" too much. Might be worth the 2-4 hours of comical dialogue that you get out of this.
This Bundle is Awesome!
I'm only scratching the surface here, but there are plenty of games that are worth your time in this bundle if you don't already have them in your library. Although I haven't gotten this bundle just yet, I'm probably getting it right after I publish this post. For me, there are more than enough new games that I think I'd enjoy. I can't emphasize this enough - it's a really great deal and you do so while supporting humanitarian efforts; it's almost a no-brainer to get it.
If you decide to get it, let me know what games you're looking forward to playing!
Oh man this is actually awesome. There's a few games here I want and a lot I don't care about but I'm probably gonna be jumping on this anyways. I would probably never had known without this post.
Haha as with any Humble Bundle that's usually the case, but it still beats paying MSRP for the games if you had an intention to buy them. For me there are enough games that I wanna try that make this deal worth it. Hope you enjoy your games!
I get a lot of food. Yes. Food. Even if I go to a restaurant, approximately $3 USD gives me a complete lunch.
I live alone with multiple disabilities under the local minimum wage in Hungary.
My country is one of the neighbor countries of Ukraine, and around 200 000 refugees came to my country. Hopefully the war between Ukraine and Russia soon will end.
Have a nice day and have a nice weekend.
All the best. Greetings and much love from Hungary.
Understandably, 40 USD can be considered a lot in many countries. Hoping your situation gets better - it must be tough to live under such conditions.
Yeah, I hope that the situation in Ukraine will be better soon; it must be somewhat taxing on Hungary to temporarily provide for those Ukrainian refugees.
Thanks again for stopping by, appreciate it! Hope you have a great day too 😄
