Anteriormente en Mario & Luigi Paper Jam Bros, estábamos cerca del reino de la princesa Peach, donde estuvimos a punto de llegar al desierto, pero los esbirros de Bowser nos impidieron el paso colocando en la entrada del desierto un enorme muñeco de cartón.
Los muñecos de cartón son enormes muñecos de cartón, los cuales lo pueden usar los enemigos para atacarnos, luego de esas escenas en las que los esbirros hablaban sobre un descanso, ya que el muñeco de cartón pesa mucho, los Marios y Luigi fueron al poblado que esta al norte, donde descubrieron que había muchos Toads de papel corriendo para todos lados.

Comenzaremos con la persecución de estos Toads, debemos reunirlos del lado izquierdo del poblado, para hacerlos entrar en una pequeña abertura por la que solo pueden pasar los todas de papel y Mario de Papel.
Debemos empujarlos entre los tres, ya que son demasiados para entrar en esa pequeña abertura en la pared, el total de los toads es 20, así que debemos obtenerlos a todos y hablarles para que se calmen.
Después de atraparlos veremos como Toadette nos mencionara que necesitara de muchos Toads de papel para poder construir el muñeco de cartón que necesitamos para avanzar en nuestra aventura.

Al intentar salir veremos cómo los Gombas vuelven a por el muñeco de cartón y lo toman para aplastarnos, pero gracias a la ayuda de Toadette podremos combatir contra ellos.

Luego estaremos en una enorme arena donde pelearemos contra muchos muñecos de cartón con forma de Gomba, debemos atacarlos con saltos o bien aturdirlos antes para que sea mucho más fácil aplastar a los enemigos.
Después de acabar con el enemigo veremos una escena donde se encuentran las princesas Peach, se encuentran en el castillo de Bowser encarceladas en una jaula de hierro, los vigilantes son los bebes de Bowser tanto como el normal como el de papel.

Continuaremos nuestro único camino disponible, en este desierto hay muchos enemigos así que recolectemos todas las monedas de oro que podamos recoger.

No tendremos otro camino por seguir, puesto que intentaremos romper una enorme roca cuadrada que está al lado izquierdo de nosotros, los Marios y Luigi pensaran en un modo de romper la roca, ya que uno solo no podrá hacerlo, puesto que juntos combinan su fuerza para darle un potente golpe a la roca provocando su destrucción.
