Today I wanted to try something different with The Sims 4, but first, I need to give you a little context so you can understand this gameplay. For those who don't know, I'm a self-taught writer and have written a few novels, so what I wanted to do this time was bring the main characters from one of them to life, especially their house. To do this, I looked for some references on Google, but none of them matched what I had in mind. It's a historical novel, set during World War II, so the design had to be much more traditional and vintage than what the references showed me 😄.
Hoy quise hacer una dinámica diferente con los sims 4, pero ante todo debo darles un poco de contexto para que puedan entender este gameplay. Para los que no lo saben, soy una escritora empírica y he escrito algunas novelas, por lo tanto lo que quise hacer en esta ocasión es darle vida de alguna manera a los personajes principales de una de ellas, pero en especial a su casa. Para esto quise buscar algunas referencias en google pero ninguna se parecía a lo que yo tenía en mente, pues se trata de una novela de época, ambientada en los años de la segunda guerra mundial, así que el diseño debía ser mucho más tradicional y vintage de lo que me mostraba la referencia 😄.
But before we start building the new house, you know we have to start with the characters, so I started with Hanna, her name is Hanna Müller, she is a school teacher but in her free time she helps out at her father's restaurant and dreams of one day becoming a renowned chef like him. I tried to make the features as close as possible to what I had in mind and I was pleasantly surprised by the result. The only detail that doesn't quite match is the hair, which I had imagined as shorter and with curls, but based on the options offered by the game I achieved a result very similar in general terms to what I imagined.
Pero antes de empezar a construir la nueva casa, ya saben que debemos iniciar por los personajes, así que empecé por Hanna, su nombre es Hanna Müller, es una maestra de escuela pero en su tiempo libre ayuda en el restaurante de su padre y sueña con volverse algún día en una chef destacada como él. Intenté hacer los rasgos lo más parecido posible a lo que yo tenía en mente y la verdad es que quedé gratamente sorprendida con el resultado, el único detalle que no concuerda mucho es el cabello, que yo lo había imaginado más corto y con bucles, pero basándome en las opciones que ofrece el juego logré un resultado muy parecido en términos generales a lo que yo imaginé.
I was also quite pleased with her clothes; she really looks like a girl from the 1940s.
También quedé bastante conforme con su ropa, realmente parece una chica de los años 40
This is Benjamin Eisenberg, and here he is showing off his outfit. He's a young bohemian and a dreamer; he works in his father's flower shop, but he's a born writer who loves writing poems and short stories.
Por su parte este es Benjamin Eisenberg y aquí nos está presumiendo su atuendo. Él es un joven Bohemio y soñador, trabaja en la floristería de su padre, pero es un escritor nato, le encanta escribir poemas y relatos.
And that's it, they are now ready to look for a new plot of land on which we will build their house.
Y listo, ya ellos están preparados para buscar un nuevo terreno en el cuál construiremos su casa.
The plot of land is quite large, so there's plenty of freedom to build whatever you want. It measures about 30x40 meters and is close to the lake, which is great because both characters enjoy outdoor walks.
El terreno es bastante grande, así que hay mucha libertad para poder construir lo que sea, mide unos 30x40 mtrs y está cerca del lago, algo genial porque a ambos personajes les gustan los paseos al aire libre
This house must be very large, with many interesting places to hide away and enjoy long hours of reading and writing. The land was in excellent condition; no alterations were needed, such as leveling or anything like that. I could just build all at once, so I started with the first floor, which will house the kitchen, dining room, a small office, a bathroom, the foyer, and the entertainment room. I used square rooms and adjusted them as I went along. I know it doesn't look beautiful right now, but I promise you it will be in the end.
Esta casa debe ser muy grande y con muchos lugares interesantes para esconderse y disfrutar de largas jornadas de lectura y escritura. El terreno estaba muy bien, n hubo que hacer ninguna alteración como aplanar ni nada de eso, solo construir de una vez, así que inicié por el primer piso en el estarán la cocina, el comedor, un pequeño despacho, un baño, el vestíbulo y la sala de entretenimiento. Usé habitaciones cuadradas y las fuí ajustando. Sé que por ahora no se ve bonito pero les prometo que al final lo estará.
Then I added a staircase to access the upper floor, a wide staircase made of cedar wood, and at the top I added some wooden railings that will not only provide protection to the inhabitants of the house, but will also add an ornamental and classic touch to the staircase, seriously, I love it 🤗.
Después añadí una escalera para acceder al piso superior, una escalera ancha, de madera de cedro, y en la parte superior le añadí unas barandillas de madera que no solo le van a aportar protección a los habitantes de la casa, sino que le añadirá un toque ornamental y clásico a la escalera, en serio, me encanta 🤗.
What I'm doing now is adding doors and windows. Remember, this is a classic house, which, in addition to being styled in the 1930s and 40s, maintains an even older, more traditional style, so it's characterized by double doors and large windows. On the right, you can see what will be the kitchen. It should be spacious and comfortable so the future chef feels right at home 😊. And the smaller room will be the dining room with a view of the street. Both spaces are divided by an arched wall so you can see what's on the other side.
Lo que estoy haciendo ahora es añadir puertas y ventanas, recuerden que esta es una casa clásica, que además de estar ambientada en los años 30 y 40, mantiene un estilo tradicional aún más antiguo, así que se caracteriza por tener puertas dobles y grandes ventanales. En la parte derecha ustedes pueden observar lo que será la cocina, debe ser amplia y cómoda para que la futura chef se sienta muy a gusto 😊. Y la habitación más pequeña será el comedor con vista a la calle. Ambos espacios están divididos por una pared con arcos para que se pueda ver lo que hay al otro lado.
When I thought I had finished assembling the structure of the house, I realized that I had not added a bathroom on the upper part, so I had to make some modifications; in this way I got the bathroom (on the left side) and a small office on the right side.
Cuando creí que había terminado de armar la estructura de la casa, me di cuenta que no había añadido un baño en la parte superior, así que tuve que hacer algunas modificaciones, de esta manera obtuve el baño (en el lado izquierdo) y un pequeño despacho en el lado derecho.
Now the structure is complete and I just need to add the roofs.
Ahora sí, la estructura está completa y solo me faltaba añadir los techos.
At this point, I began adding lighting (chandelier-style lamps) and wallpaper, maintaining the classic style. The floor is ebony wood to contrast with the walls. Oh! And I can't forget to mention the large windows that open onto the patio and also the beautiful view beyond, on the lake.
En este punto comencé a añadir la iluminación (lamparas con forma de candelabro) y el papel tapiz, manteniendo el estilo clásico. El piso es de madera de ébano para que hiciera contraste con las paredes. ¡Ahh! y no puedo olvidar mencionar los amplios ventanales que dan acceso al patio y también al hermoso paisaje que hay más allá, en el lago.
Here you can see both floors of the house (the lower and the upper) with all the details (lighting, floors, doors, windows and wallpaper or panels), all that's left is to add the furniture.
Aquí ya pueden ver ambas plantas de la casa (la inferior y la superior) con todos los detalles (iluminación, pisos, puertas, ventanas y papel tapiz o paneles) solo falta añadir los muebles.
To add some landscaping, I wanted to add some stones that lead to the entrance of the house.
Para añadir algo de paisajismo quise añadir algunas piedras que conducen a la entrada de la casa.
As you can see, in the yard I added many interesting details such as a fence that surrounds the entire house and even a delimited and special space where Benjamin will plant his flowers, vegetables and greens, I also added grass, a beautiful pool and some functional and decorative details such as flowers, statues and tables for when the Sims want to eat outside, looking at the beautiful landscape that surrounds them.
Como pueden ver, en el patio añadí muchos detalles interesantes como una barda que rodea toda la casa e incluso un espacio delimitado y especial en el cuál Benjamín plantará sus flores, verduras y hortalizas, también añadí pasto, una hermosa piscina y algunos detalles funcionales y decorativos como flores, estatuas y mesas para cuando los sims quieran comer en el exterior, mirando el bello paisaje que los rodea.
And voilà, as you can see, here is the finished house, this is what the facade looks like.
Y voilá, tal como pueden ver, aquí está la casa terminada, así es como se ve la fachada.
Here you can see what both floors of the house look like, with all their details, including the small terraces I added. Don't worry, I'll show you my favorite rooms in detail later.

Notice how the large windows look; this provides the house with plenty of natural light and, of course, excellent views, as well as a feeling of spaciousness and relaxation.
Fíjense en como se ven las grandes ventanas, esto le proporciona mucha luz natural a la casa y desde luego excelentes vistas, así como una sensación de amplitud y relax.
This is the kitchen. I installed a black marble floor that contrasts with the wallpaper, giving it a classic cottage style. The countertops are white with black accents, and I also added white curtains to the windows.
Esta es la cocina, aquí le puse un piso de mármol negro que contrasta con el papel tapiz de las paredes, el cuál le aporta un estilo clásico cottage. las encimeras son blancas con topes negros y también le añadí cortinas blancas a las ventanas.
This is the master bedroom; it has many vintage and charming details that give it grace and elegance. The floor is made of wood, but I added a carpet to give it a delicate and soft appearance.
Esta es la habitación principal, tiene muchos detalles vintage y coquette que le aportan gracia y elegancia, el piso es de madera pero le añadí una moqueta para aportarle una apariencia delicada y suave.
This is the entertainment room, with a fireplace, sofas, wood paneling, lots of flowers (let's not forget that Benjamin will be an excellent gardener) and a giant television to comfortably watch movies and TV shows 😃.
Esta es la sala de entretenimiento, con chimenea, sofás, paneles de madera, muchas flores (no olvidemos que Benjamin será un excelente jardinero) y un televisor gigante para ver películas y programas de televisión cómodamente 😃.
Both Sims were very happy with their new house, so much so that Benjamin started experimenting in their future garden, planting some seeds he bought. Soon we'll have flowers, carrots, mushrooms, and lettuce. Hanna, for her part, dared to prepare a brownie recipe which, despite her inexperience (for now), turned out delicious, and then they both enjoyed it on the patio.
Ambos sims quedaron muy satisfechos con su nueva casa, tanto que Benjamin comenzó a experimentar en su futuro huerto, plantando algunas semillas que compró, así que pronto tendremos algunas flores, zanahorias, setas y lechugas. Hanna por su parte se atrevió a preparar una receta de Brownies que a pesar de su inexperiencia (por ahora) le quedó deliciosa, y luego ambos lo degustaron en el patio.
And so, this is how this new house turned out. I hope you liked it. I seriously will never get tired of The Sims; I love it because it always offers multiple and endless possibilities for fun, so I consider it one of the best simulation games, if not the best 😃.
Y bien, así fue como quedó esta nueva casa, espero que a ustedes les haya gustado, en serio jamás me cansaré de los sims, me encanta porque siempre ofrece múltiples e infinitas posibilidades para divertirse, así que lo considero uno de los mejores juegos de simulación, sino el mejor 😃.
