It's been several days since I got my graphics card, I've been doing some tests and testing its performance in games. To tell you the truth the performance it has is pretty good but it is not what I expected, at least it is much better than my previous card and maybe I can do things I couldn't do before. Now I will tell you about my little adventure.

An impossible bid
My adventure begins with a purchase in mercadolibre. I had money in my possession and I didn't want to spend it on some nonsense, I wanted once and for all to acquire my card to improve my gaming experience, something that had been impossible for me. In 2020 I was able to upgrade my PC and the only component I could never acquire was a graphics card. Months went by and I saw tempting offers but from people who could be scammers, the worst thing is that the most reputable people on the platform are the ones who add higher prices to their products (I have already talked about this in another post).
Every day I spent at least an hour reviewing the different offers and when I thought I managed to make a purchase, someone else offered more money for the card, so the seller changed his mind and in the end I could not buy, it was as if it were an auction.
The day I took a risk
I was tired, frustrated and unmotivated, I could only settle for old games, which are not bad at all, even those old games are the ones I enjoy the most, however, when I went to the Steam store I wanted to play some Free to Play games that looked good, but there was always that obstacle when downloading a game, there was always the "Will this game run well?" "Will I waste several days downloading a game for nothing? Anyway, I just wanted to have security when downloading any game, download, open and play without any hindrance.
One day a friend started playing WoW and asked me if I wanted to join playing with him, I accepted. Obviously one of the first things I did was to check the game requirements and look at various WoW performance tests on my little card, just to be sure. The performance Shadowlands offered on a gt 710(the card I own) was pretty good, so I was excited and decided to buy it. The game performed pretty decent throughout the campaign but then came the problems, the raids. In the dungeons there are a lot of monsters and a lot of players, including the animations and skill effects, my little card couldn't take it.
Days went by and I kept playing WoW, but I couldn't explore all the content of the game due to the aforementioned limitation, still I didn't give up. One night before going to sleep I decided to check mercadolibre to see mousepad offers and when I least expected it mercadolibre suggested to check the recent publication of a video card (mercadolibre suggests products depending on the searches you do on the site). When I entered the publication I was surprised as the seller seemed to have enough reputation and good comments as a seller. I didn't even think since the card was at a good price(compared to the other postings), so I took a chance and bid after seeing the pictures of the card which was in good condition.
Problems and inconveniences are always present
After purchasing and contacting the seller, I asked him to send me a picture of the Gpu temperatures, I paid him immediately after he sent them to me. Because I made the payment at night, I had to wait for the day for the seller to send the product. I went the whole day without hearing from the seller, so I asked him what happened and he replied saying that he had complications and could not ship, so he would ship the next day.
At that moment I started to be afraid and anxious (it always happens to me when I make a purchase). The next day he told me the same thing, he said he couldn't go to the shipping branch because of some problems and it was like that all week until Friday. On Friday I did not receive any news from the seller, I said to myself "I was swindled". After a few hours the seller managed to answer me and sent me the certification that he made the shipment and apologized for the inconvenience. I thanked him but I did not accept the apology as it was very irresponsible on his part, now all that was left was for my card to arrive intact.
The waiting
I spent 4 days waiting for my card as the shipping branches do not work on weekends. I must admit I was quite impatient, I wanted to at least know if I had really been ripped off or not. One morning I wake up and the first thing I do is check on the shipping agency's website to see if my package had arrived, and yes, it had.
The unboxing and testing
After receiving the package the first thing I did was to cross my fingers and pray that inside it there was not a rock or simply nothing, in the video that I will show you below you can clearly see my disappointment.
Hahahaha just kidding. The graphics card only had some dust so I cleaned it and immediately connected it to my motherboard to test it and install the drivers. Everything was perfect, it gave image and just needed to test the drivers and test it for a while with games (WoW). After installing the drivers and rebooting, everything seemed to go great. The first game I tested was League Of Legends, which is not a very demanding game, I played it for several minutes and it performed perfectly.

More problems
After playing LoL for several minutes I decided to try WoW, the game that made me risk my money. I started the game and I could see my beautiful mage in very good quality, that made me quite excited. When I pressed the button to enter the world, the loading screen appeared and when it finished loading my pc restarted.
I tried again but my pc restarted again. I was scared and quite discouraged. I decided to uncover the graphics card for maintenance and noticed that I didn't have a single drop of thermal paste on it. When I saw that I thought that was the reason why my pc was rebooting, the temperature of the graphics card was increasing because of the lack of thermal paste and it was rebooting to avoid damaging any component. I used one of the best thermal pastes and tried again, unfortunately the same thing happened.

I messaged the seller and he was slow to respond, but at least he did. If he had wanted to scam me he probably would have blocked me from the moment he received payment. The only thing he told me was that it worked perfectly for him and that he used a 500 watt power supply just like mine. I did some research to avoid resigning myself to find out more about the watts consumption of my R9 card. In all the sites I investigated the information is incomplete, the consumption varies in all of them. I watched a video where a person tested the same card with a 600 watts power supply, so I decided to buy one of the same brand but 700 watts to be sure. If the video card did not work with my new psu, then the problem would be with the card. After receiving the psu, I ran to connect the card and this time my pc did not reboot.

I still wasn't totally sure of its performance so I preferred not to declare victory. I've been playing with the guys for several days now, I've played WoW, I've done everything and it seems to be going pretty well, although the performance in WoW is not as expected, it's amazing, I think that now I can do mythical raids, but I have to raise my item level a little more.
My recommendation
If you are thinking about building your pc, I strongly recommend you to buy a good power supply, always looking ahead. It is true that a better psu is more expensive but you will have much more possibilities of improvement and you will not have to worry about the watts, you will only have to buy, assemble and enjoy your pc. If your pc is going to be for gaming, I recommend a 600 watts power supply as minimum, it is true that with a 400, even with a 500 watts one you can also play but it is always better to have too much than too little.
If you have come this far, I really appreciate that you have stayed with me in this little story, I also want to thank those who gave me good vibes and wished me many successes in the best way, that energy made me not to give up. Without further ado, time to play!

Ya han pasado varios días desde que tengo mi tarjeta gráfica, he estado haciendo algunos test y probando su rendimiento en juegos. A decir verdad el rendimiento que tiene es bastante bueno pero no es lo que esperaba, al menos es mucho mejor que mi anterior tarjeta y tal vez pueda hacer cosas que antes no podía. Ahora les hablaré acerca de mi pequeña aventura.

Una puja imposible
Mi aventura comienza con una compra en mercadolibre. Tenía dinero en mi poder y no quería gastarlo en alguna tontería, quería de una vez por todas adquirir mi tarjeta para mejorar mi experiencia en juegos, cosa que me había sido imposible. El 2020 pude mejorar mi Pc y el único componente que nunca pude adquirir fue una tarjeta gráfica. Pasaban los meses y veía ofertas tentadoras pero de personas que podían ser estafadores, lo peor es que las personas con más reputación de la plataforma son los que añaden precios más elevados a sus productos(ya he hablado de esto en otro post).
Cada día me pasaba al menos una hora revisando las distintas ofertas y cuando creía que lograba concretar alguna compra, otra persona ofrecía más dinero por la tarjeta, así que el vendedor cambiaba de parecer y al final no podía comprar, es como si se tratase de una subasta.
El día en el que me arriesgué
Estaba cansado, frustrado y desmotivado, solo podía conformarme con juegos viejos, los cuales no están nada mal, incluso esos videojuegos antiguos son aquellos que más disfruto, sin embargo, al pasarme por la tienda de Steam quería jugar algunos Free to Play que tenían buena pinta, pero siempre existió esa traba a la hora de descargar un juego, siempre existió el "¿Podrá correrme bien este juego?" "¿Perderé varios días descargando un juego para nada?". En fin, solo quería tener seguridad al descargar cualquier juego, descargar, abrir y jugar sin ninguna traba.
Un día un amigo empezó a jugar WoW y me preguntó si quería unirme a jugar con él, yo acepté. Obviamente una de las primeras cosas que hice fue revisar los requisitos del juego y ver varios test de rendimiento de WoW en mi pequeña tarjeta, solo para estar seguro. El rendimiento que Shadowlands ofrecía en una gt 710(la tarjeta que poseo) era bastante bueno, así que me emocioné y decidí comprarlo. El juego se desempeñó bastante decente en toda la campaña pero luego llegaron los problemas, las raids. En las mazmorras hay muchos monstruos y muchos jugadores, incluyendo las animaciones y los efectos de las habilidades, mi pequeña tarjeta no lo soportaba.
Pasaban los días y yo seguía jugando WoW, pero no podía explorar todo el contenido del juego debido a la limitación ya mencionada, aún así no me rendí. Una noche antes de dormí decidí revisar mercadolibre para ver ofertas de mousepad y cuando menos me lo esperaba mercadolibre sugirió revisar la publicación reciente de una tarjeta de vídeo(mercadolibre sugiere productos dependiendo de las búsquedas que hagas en el sitio). Al entrar en la publicación me sorprendí ya que el vendedor parecía tener suficiente reputación y buenos comentarios como vendedor. Yo ni siquiera pensé ya que la tarjeta estaba a buen precio(en comparación a las demás publicaciones), así que me arriesgué y oferté después de ver las fotos de la tarjeta que estaba en buen estado.
Siempre hay problemas e inconvenientes
Después de comprar y contactar con el vendedor, le pedí que me enviase una foto de las temperaturas de la Gpu, le pagué de inmediato luego de que me las envió. Debido a que hice el pago por la noche, debía de esperar al día para que el vendedor enviase el producto. Pasé todo el día sin recibir noticias del vendedor, así que le pregunté que había sucedido y él me respondió diciendo que tuvo complicaciones y que no pudo realizar el envío, así que lo haría el siguiente día.
En ese momento empecé a tener miedo y ansiedad(siempre que hago una compra me pasa). Al siguiente día me dijo lo mismo, dijo que no pudo ir a la sucursal de envíos por algunos problemas y así pasó toda la semana hasta el día viernes. El día viernes pasé sin recibir noticias del vendedor, me dije a mi mismo "fui estafado". Al paso de las horas el vendedor me logra responder y me envía la certificación de que realizó el envío y me pidió disculpas por los inconvenientes. Le di las gracias pero no le acepté las disculpas ya que fue muy irresponsable de su parte, ahora solo faltaba que mi tarjeta llegase intacta.
La espera
Pasé 4 días esperando por mi tarjeta ya que las sucursales de envío no trabajan los fines de semana. Debo de admitir que estuve bastante impaciente, quería al menos saber si realmente me habían estafado o no. Una mañana me despierto y lo primero que hago es verificar en el sitio web de la agencia de envíos si mi paquete ya había llegado, y sí, así fue.
El unboxing y las pruebas
Después de recibir el paquete lo primero que hice fue cruzar los dedos y rogar que dentro de él no hubiese una roca o simplemente no hubiese nada, en el vídeo que les mostraré a continuación se puede ver claramente mi decepción.
Hahahaha es broma. La gráfica solo tenía algo de polvo así que la limpié e inmediatamente la conecté a mi placa para hacerle las pruebas e instalarle los drivers. Todo iba perfecto, dio imagen y solo faltaba la prueba de los drivers y testearla un rato con juegos(WoW). Después de instalar los drivers y reiniciar, todo parecía ir genial. El primer juego que probé fue League Of Legends, el cual no es un juego demasiado demandante, lo jugué por varios minutos y se desempeñaba perfectamente.

Más problemas
Después de jugar LoL por varios minutos decidí probar WoW, el juego que me hizo arriesgar mi dinero. Inicié el juego y pude ver a mi hermosa maga en muy buena calidad, eso me emocionó bastante. Al presionar el botón para entrar al mundo, apareció la pantalla de carga y cuando terminó de cargar mi pc se reinició.
Volví a intentarlo pero mi pc volvió a reiniciarse. Estaba asustado y bastante desanimado. Decidí destapar la tarjeta gráfica para hacerle mantenimiento y me di cuenta que no tenía ni una sola gota de pasta térmica. Al ver eso creí que era la razón por la cual se reiniciaba mi pc, la temperatura de la gráfica aumentaba al no tener pasta térmica y se reiniciaba para evitar dañar algún componente. Utilicé una de las mejores pastas térmicas y volví a probar, lastimosamente sucedió lo mismo.

Le envié mensajes al vendedor y tardaba en responder, pero al menos lo hacía. Si hubiera querido estafarme probablemente me hubiera bloqueado desde el momento en el que recibió el pago. Lo único que me dijo es que a él le funcionaba perfectamente y que utilizaba una fuente de poder de 500 watts igual a la mía. Investigué un poco para evitar resignarme y averiguar más acerca el consumo de Watts de mi tarjeta R9. En todos los sitios que investigué la información está incompleta, el consumo varía en todos. Miré un vídeo en donde una persona probaba la misma tarjeta con una fuente de poder de 600 watts, así que decidí comprar una de la misma marca pero de 700 watts para estar seguro. Si la tarjeta de vídeo no funcionaba con mi nueva psu, entonces el problema sería de la tarjeta. Después de recibir la psu, corrí a conectar la tarjeta y esta vez mi pc no se reinició.

Todavía no estaba totalmente seguro de su funcionamiento así que preferí no cantar victoria. Ya llevo varios días jugando con los muchachos, he jugado WoW, he hecho de todo y parece ir bastante bien, aunque el rendimiento en WoW no es el esperado, va increíble, creo que ahora si puedo hacer raid míticas, pero debo de subir un poco más mi item level.
Mi recomendación
Si estás pensando en armar tu pc, te recomiendo encarecidamente que compres una buena fuente de poder, siempre mirando hacia futuro. Es verdad que una mejor psu es más costosa pero tendrás muchas más posibilidades de mejora y no tendrás que preocuparte por los watts, solo deberás de comprar, ensamblar y disfrutar tu pc. Si tu pc va a ser para jugar, te recomiendo una fuente de 600 watts como mínimo, es verdad que con una de 400, incluso con una de 500 watts se puede jugar también pero siempre es mejor que sobre a que falte.
Si has llegado hasta aquí, realmente agradezco que te hayas quedado conmigo en esta pequeña historia, también quiero agradecer aquellos que me dieron buenas vibras y me desearon muchos éxitos de la mejor forma, esa energía hizo que no me diera por vencido. Sin más, ¡hora de jugar!

I feel like it's been so long since you ordered it I had almost forgotten about it. Good thing it finally arrived! I don't think I've ever upgraded my PC and gotten the performance I expected. I think we always believe it will be the best thing ever and when it's not we get disappointed.
This is important. I upgraded my power supply after having my old one for 12 years. I got a pretty wild one that should last me at least 15 new years.

Recuerdo mi odisea comprando mi primera Tarjeta gráfica, una 8600GT de 1GB, aquella vez, también decidí arriesgarme, el vendedor envió el producto y cuando decidí conectarla, mostraba artifacts, eso me desconsoló mucho y me sentí estafado, aún así, quise por consuelo llevarla con un amigo para hacer un reballing, pero mi amigo me indicaba que no solo necesitaría eso, sino que también las pistas tenían una especie de liquido pegajoso, así que le agregó un baño químico, luego vino hasta mi casa, la instalamos, y corrió perfecto.
Es lamentable que en ocasiones exista tan mala fe por parte de las personas, desde aquel momento decidí comprar todos mis componentes en tiendas físicas, preferí evitar más lamentos y gastar un poco más comprándola en mi ciudad.
Es muy agradable ver, leer este tipo de experiencias, pues ayuda a muchas personas a crear conciencia y a saber como manejarse y en ocasiones evitar ser tan impulsivos, a veces se gana y a veces se pierde, mercadolibre suele ser una pequeña lotería.

Al menos pudiste repararla, muchos no logran reparar su gráfica por distintos motivos, entre esos motivos, la desconfianza. Existe muchísima gente que quiere lucrarse a costilla de otro, personas que no tienen valores inculcados y no piensan ni sienten, no se imaginan el esfuerzo que hace una persona todos los días para poder comprar sus cositas. Si lo del vídeo hubiera sido real, probablemente me hubiera lanzado desde la punta de un edificio para desaparecer.
Efectivamente, existen daños colaterales, lamentablemente hay muchas personas que no tienen valores inculcados para ser simplemente justos en la vida, lo bueno, es que entre esos vendedores deshonestos, también hay gente honrada, algo que nos hace pensar en que aún tenemos esperanza en la humanidad. Creeme, si hubiese pasaod lo de tu video, hubiese sido fatal, hay un youtuber, sfdx show que hace locuras con computadoras, y suele hacer compras muy arriesgadas, suele dar muy buenos consejos, saludos bro!

I've been meaning to upgrade my PC as well, but haven't even tried to go GPU shopping yet. My current one, a 3gb GTX 1060 handles most of my needs just fine. But it really is the weak link in my current set up. So, I want a new one, but I can also wait a little for the market to relax.

Hola, muchas gracias por leer. Para poder comprar por mercadolibre no necesitas tarjeta de crédito si es a lo que te refieres. Únicamente necesitas una cuenta de banco desde la cual puedas transferir el dinero hacia la cuenta del vendedor al que acudas. Si vas a comprar tus juegos para ps2, entonces te recomiendo que veas bien la reputación de los vendedores.

Es un alivio saber que al fin te funciona perfectamente (aunque ya yo lo sabía desde hace días XD). Y me alegra mucho por ti, espero que puedas disfrutarla de la mejor forma y que con el tiempo le agarres cariño, creo que en realidad con esa gráfica puedes jugar prácticamente que todo actual, tal vez no todo en hiper mega ultra pero sí a una calidad decente.

Finally haha, I think that the anxiety that would have given me to wait so long would have caused me a severe depression, I can imagine resigning myself to it never coming to me and feeling cheated as well as another tangle of negative feelings haha, we have to have nerves of steel in these times due the GPUs prices, the low stock availability and the other problems with the market, I'm happy for you 😁😊, my faith in humanity has been restored 😂!!

Increíble. Está chévere ver cómo poco a poco vas mejorando tu PC, esto es técnicamente una serie en tu blog. Lo único que podría considerarse malo fue el gasto extra por la fuente de poder, quizás tus componentes consumen mucho más y por eso necesitabas más watts. Ahora esperaré el momento que te compres una RTX para que hagas posts del Minecraft súper realista (?
Gracias dude. Y si, fue un gasto extra que pude haber invertido o ahorrado en otra cosa, pero el lado bueno es que practicamente tengo para armar una nueva pc. Tengo fuente, tarjeta de vídeo, mi viejo teclado, mouse y un monitor. Tal vez en algún momento invierta en un nuevo pc segundario para respaldar todo. Y si, seguramente mis componentes consumen mucho más, la cuestión es que en los sitios en los que he buscado la información es muy mala, sumas los watts y al final parece que te dará de sobra, pero no. Ojalá llegue ese momento para jugar Minecraft con Mods 4k.

I know I don't need to say this as you talked about it, but PSU's are always good to try and future proof as then you don't have to worry about consumption almost ever.
And lastly, regarding the temps and testing the GPU. When I had bought my used card a while back, a good tech friend highly suggested to ask the seller to run a FurMark test in which it runs your GPU extremely hard to make sure everything is in order. Might be worth for future GPU buying endeavors.
