Pokémon, but hard: Nuzlocke Challenge

I think everyone knows what Pokémon is or at least knows a Pokémon like Pikachu, at this point in time it's a classic franchise that everyone can play.
But for anyone that played an entire or various Pokémon games maybe can agree with me that it's a pretty easy game, time consuming but easy, at the end the game it's balanced to give you a pleasent experience so the Level of the Pokémon it's given organically, that means that fighting the trainers in the story and having a few encounters in routes you can level up to be at the same level of the Gym Leaders or Main Enemies, The "Pokémon League" it's maybe the hardest challenge, but because you are practically winning the game or completing the story.
I mean it's not a bad game design, it's meant to be that way, but if you already played one or two games you know the types, what's strong what's not and except the surprises of the new games in essence it's pretty similar.
So, let's make the game harder, How?
Nuzlocke Rules
What is Nuzlocke?, Nuzlocke it's a set of rules created to make the main game more interesting. Created by a user drawing the rules in comics in the community, it's called Nuzlocke because from the Lost Character John Locke mixed with a Nuzleaf, Nuzleaf + John Locke = Nuzlocke used as profile picture of the user.
It's created to make the game hard, completing and getting all the Pokémons it is hard, but the main story and challenges of the Pokémon trainers it's not that hard, so with this set of simple rules it's a little bit more fun.
The Main basic rules are simple:
Now you can play every Pokémon game you like and play with Nuzlocke rules, there are some increse difficult options if it is still easy like Only using Pokémon Center for Healing, or Not using the EXP Share, but the main Basic Nuzlocke Rules it's a good place to start, you'll be more aware of stats, types, moves and use more passive items to try win and not die.
Tips and Tricks
Am not an expert, but i learned some stuff playing Nuzlocke, here are some recommendations:
- Be careful of critics: there is a 6,25% chance of critis in the game so be mindful of what Pokémon you have in front of you, and which Pokémon are you using.
- Yellow life? No thanks: Many of my Pokémons died because of me thinking they'll live because they are in yellow life and not red life, if you are not so shure, just change Pokémon or heal them.
- Use Passive Items: Use the items that are given to you, give the items to the Pokémons to enhance the moves or stats.
- Do not toin coss situations: Be mindful of your decisions, think the types the moves and the states of every Pokémon you and the enemy have, do not just throw out a Pokémon.
Conclusion
I have to say am playing a Nuzlocke right not, and it's hard to keep the bad habits away, you can't just die and heal and try again, farming that EXP. Am being more careful with which Pokémons i use first, using more utility moves like paralize, poison, confusion or burn, using flinch in my favor and trying to calcute how much damage i cand do and how much damage they will do to my pokémons.
After all it's a fun experience, because it makes the game more interesting, definitely searching more info in online PokeDexes or apps.

Creo que todos conocemos que es Pokémon, o al menos sabemos algún Pokémon como Pikachu, llegados a éste punto es una franquicia clásica que todos pueden jugar.
Pero para cualquiera que haya completado uno o varios juegos de Pokémon a lo mejor puede estar de acuerdo conmigo que es un juego relativamente fácil, consume tiempo pero es fácil, al fin y al cabo el juego está balanceado para darte una experiencia gratificante, así que el nivel de los Pokémones es dado orgánicamente, significa que enfrentándote a los entrenadores que te encuentras sumando algun que otro encuentro salvaje en las rutas puedes subir de nivel para tener un poder similar a los líderes de gimnasio o enemigos principales, La "Liga Pokémon" es, a lo mejor, el reto más difícil, pero obvio, prácticamente estás a punto de ganar, de completar la historia.
Quiero decir, no es un mal diseño de juegos, está hecho de esa manera por una razón, pero si has jugado uno o dos juegos ya sabs los tipos de Pokémon cuáles son fuertes o débiles enfrente de ciertos otros tipos, y exceptuando las sorpresas de nuevos Pokémones en nuevas entregas es todo bastante similar.
Dicho ésto, hagamos el jugo más difícil ¿Cómo?
Reglas Nuzlocke
¿Qué es Nuzlocke?, es una serie de reglas creadas para hacer el juego más interesante, creado por un usuario que dibujaba las reglas en formato de cómic en la counidad, es llamado Nuzlocke debido a la foto de perfil del usuario, el rostro de John Locke actor de Perdidos (Lost) mezclado con el Pokémon Nuzleaf.
Es creado con el objetivo de hacer el juego más difícil, completar la PokeDex y tener todos los Pokémones es difícil, pero la historia principal y los retos de los entrenadores no son tan difíciles, así que con este conjunto de reglas es un poco más divertido.
Las reglas básicas principales son:
Ahora puedes jugar cualquier Pokémon que quieras pero con las reglas de Nuzlocke, hay otras opciones para aumentar la dificultad como Solo usar el Centro Pokémon para curarte, or No usar el Repartidor de EXP, pero las reglas básicas están bien para comenzar, estarás más atento a estadísticas, tipos, movimeintos y usarás más items de efecto pasivo para ganar y no morir.
Trucos y Consejos
No soy un expero, pero aprendí algunas cosas jugando Nuzlocke, aquí algunas recomendaciones:
- Ten cuidado de los críticos: hay un chance de 6,25% de críticos en el juego así que se consciente de qué Pokémones tienes en frente y cuáles estás usando.
- ¿Vida amarilla? No gracias: Mucho de mis Pokémones murieron porque pensaba que no había peligro al tener vida amarilla y no roja, si no estás muy seguro solo cambia de Pokémon o usa alguna cura.
- Usa objetos Pasivos: Usa los objetos que se te proporcionan en el juego, dáselos a tus Pokémones para aumentar sus movimientos o estadísticas.
- No dejes a la suerte las situaciones: Sé consciente de tus decisiones, piensa los tipos, movimientos y estados de cada Pokémon que tienes y tiene tu enemigo, no sólo lanzes un Pokémon a la batalla.
Conclusión
Tengo que decir que ahora mismo estoy jugando con reglas Nuzlocke, y es difícil apartar los malos hábitos de siempre, no puedes morir y curarte una y otra vez, farmeando esa EXP. Estoy siendo más cuidadoso con qué Pokémones uso primero, usando más movimientos de efecto de estado/utilidad como paralizantes, venenos, confusiones o quemados, usando el retroceder que pueden causar algunos movimientos a mi favor y tratando de calcular cuando daño me hacen o puedo hacer.
Al final de todo es una experiencia divertidad (y frustrante), porque hace el juego definitivamente más interesante, hoy por hoy busco más en PokeDex online o aplicaciones.
