Before the final shape of Our Little Brothers revealed itself, I was searching for a good development path for the game. I tested various templates, and for a while, the game was even supposed to be a first-person shooter, but unfortunately, many technical issues made that direction impossible to pursue. However, a few prototype recordings survived, where I jokingly gave the enemies Nazi voices lmao.
The game was also supposed to feature a mechanic for… rowing a boat. Unfortunately, that turned out to be the single most bug-ridden thing I had ever worked with, and I had to abandon it as well. I replaced it with a driving mechanic instead. At that time, I also wasn’t able to implement another feature — the kick. Only after switching to a third-person camera did I start diving deeper into animation blueprints, which finally made it possible for the player to kick enemies in the finished version.

Zanim ujawnił się ostateczny kształt Our Little Brothers poszukiwałem dla niego dobrej drogi rozwoju. Sprawdzałem różne templetki, przez chwilę nawet gra miała być pierwszoosobowym shooterem, ale niestety różne techniczne problemy uniemożliwiły obranie tego kierunku. Zachowały się jednak pojedyncze nagrania z prototypów, gdzie roboczo dorzuciłem przeciwnikom głosy nazistów xd
Gra też miała posiadać mechanikę... pływania łódką. Niestety ta też była najbardziej bugującą się rzeczą z jaką miałem kiedykolwiek styczność i również musiałem ją porzucić. Zastąpiłem ją mechaniką jazdy samochodem. Nie potrafiłem wtedy zaimplementować innej rzeczy - kopniaka. Dopiero po przerzuceniu się na kamerę trzecioosobową nauczyłem się zagłębiać w kwestię animacji, dzięki czemu gracz w finalnej wersji będzie mógł wykopywać wrogów.
