I have no idea where to start honestly, this is possibly one of the most special posts I'm going to do on this platform, and not for less, because it will represent a before and after in my content and my way of interacting with all of you, both here and in the community server, where I'm usually talking to any of you every day.
Those who know me know that since I started in Hive I've had the same PC, throughout my life is the only desktop pc I've had in fact, a faithful companion that even with failures, always saved me when I needed to publish or play something of humble requirements, this pc has the following specifications:
- Processor: Intel Pentium E5300 2.60 Ghz
- 2 GB RAM DDR2
- 250 GB HDD (this value changed with the passage of time, as the disc died a long time ago.)
- Nvidia GeForce 9400 GT 1 GB
With this pc it worked miracles, even with its constant freezes, errors, limitations, and false deaths (more than once it made me believe that it had kicked the bucket) allowed me to play Hollow Knight, Celeste and many other games throughout these 11 and a half years that has been with me, but since about 4 years ago it began to present failures (no joke), and finally it's time has come.
It has taken me a long time to get a replacement for the PC because basically I'm slowly fixing my house while saving to buy another PC, and honestly I didn't want to buy something that was going to be obsolete after a year, so it was quite discouraging to have the money there and end up using it in a higher priority, but after a huge sacrifice and many months of waiting, the time has come.
It's ironic, because almost a year ago I was arriving to the Discord server of the community and it was there when I REALLY met some of the people that make life here, I remember that Risha (rishahp) and Jean (therealflaws) were having an extremely philosophical conversation and they were who basically welcomed me, by that time Risha was improving his pc and his excitement was palpable, first he improved his processor and then the graphics card, as well as him, I saw other users that with the passing of the weeks and months made small or big improvements to their computers, and honestly, if they had told me when I entered that at this point I would have a better pc, I wouldn't have believed them, it's almost a circle, because SadBear told me the same thing almost a year ago, and now it happens to me, since then I've spent hours and hours talking about components on the server, because I was very motivated by the idea of building a pc for many reasons.

Risha was my partner in crime, we talked day and night about the best components to build a contemporary but not too expensive pc, apart from him, other users joined us like Digi (DigitalDicast) or Gabo (gabrielserra), the truth is that they're a lot and I would like to thank them all, but it's something I'll leave for the conclusion.
Those who want to know about components must be drooling by now, those who don't already know, I mean, so I'll be commenting in parallel the components and my experience building the PC.

It wasn't in my plans to buy a "gamer" case, but for ventilation issues (and that the RGB is nice) I decided to buy one, which included 2 fans from factory and I added 3 more Checkpoint fans, these weren't in my plans either, but I got them in exchange for a mouse that I returned and the truth are pretty good, this case has tempered glass panel and its cable dome, plus the metal piece that separates the power supply from the rest of the components.

Not even in my wildest dreams I thought of buying a motherboard for overclocking, but thanks to an unexpected offer on Amazon I got this Gigabyte at LESS than half the price, worth even less than a B560, what I was decided from the beginning were the RAM memories, they would be 2 sticks of 8 GB to take advantage of that precious "Dual Channel" of which the old writings speak.
I began the assembly by placing the RAM memories in the mother, which is the easiest thing, but before that would come the "brain" of the whole operation.

My initial plan was an i3 10100, its 4 cores and 8 threads would be more than enough for almost any game with a matching graphics (not that I wanted to play everything at 4K), but once again, Amazon offers did their thing, and for a little more money I managed to acquire this processor with a respectable 6 cores and 12 threads, inserting it into the board was a terrifying task, because you must place it in the correct position, and then you must do some force to close the lid that fixes the processor, I thought I was going to break it haha.
The heatsink was something additional that I didn't plan to buy, but I did it to not worry about temperatures in a while, install it wasn't very difficult, but as with the processor, you have to do it with force and in turn carefully, not without placing enough thermal paste.
With these 4 pieces installed, it was time to screw the board to the case, this process wasn't too difficult, but I had to be careful that the screws didn't fall into the cable vault or something like that, there was no accident and the board was fixed without much problem, it was time to install the power supply that will power all the components.

I've been using this power supply for a couple of weeks before building the pc in my old pc because its respective power supply was failing, and as I had also bought the gpu, so I needed to use it to "test" the gpu, although the truth is that I spent these two weeks with an infernal bottleneck of 95%, and that's not saying much.
I had to take the psu out of the case about 3 times during the assembly, because it's semi-modular and I thought I wouldn't need some cables, just to finish including them in different phases as I was installing the components, I needed one of the sata cables for the disks, another one for the fans, and the molex for the checkpoint fans, so the case was a mess of cables everywhere, I think I could do better the cable arrangement, but I did what I could, let's continue.
For storage I used two 500 GB hard drives, and a Kingston 240 SSD for the operating system, so far, I'm satisfied, but it's about time to talk about the GPU, which is almost an open secret at this point.

One of the few things I bought second hand, when I went to test it I spent several hours seeing how it performed and despite getting a little warmer than it should, I could verify the proper functioning of the gpu and I bought it, my initial plan was a 1050 ti or a RX 570, but just as the processor was an unexpected improvement, the same happened with the graphics card haha.
These would be the main components, I must say that getting a place for the SSD was a real nightmare because of a construction detail of the case I could not install it in the ideal place where it should be, but after assembling everything, I did a preliminary power on to verify that it would turn on and take away the FEAR THAT SOMETHING WAS WRONG, but it wasn't the case, it booted correctly until the bios, so I turned it off and proceeded to make the cable arrangement to finish.
Using cable ties, or however you know them, I was fixing the cables and connectors that were going to be away from the public view so that the lid would close, I don't want to dwell too much on this point because it was a disaster, but finally, everything was in place and the lid closed without problems.
Moving on for a moment to the monitor, the one on my pc has been showing dead pixels for a couple of months, so I thought it would die soon, it still works though, but I decided to buy a second hand monitor to be able to work properly, leaving my old monitor as secondary to have more work area, and the truth is that the space provided by two monitors is spectacular, but for the installation I kept using only one monitor.
Before I started putting everything together I already had a USB with the Windows 10 installer ready, the whole installation took less than 10 minutes, and my power on, power off and reboot times are heaven and earth compared to the old PC, taking less than 30 seconds in any case.
I've been using the pc for a couple of days, installing drivers and verifying that everything works correctly, and the truth is that I couldn't be happier with my new acquisition, which as I said will be a before and after in my performance on the page, and in general, for my daily life.
I want to make it clear, I'm very grateful to Hive and the Hive Gaming community in general (plus some friends outside the community), because thanks to you (all), votes, comments and messages is that I'm where I am, I don't want this to sound like the typical "youtuber thanks", but there's simply no expression that covers everything I'm feeling right now, simply, thank you.

No tengo la menor idea de por dónde empezar honestamente, este es posiblemente uno de los posts más especiales que voy a hacer en esta plataforma, y no es para menos, pues representará un antes y un después en mi contenido y mi forma de interactuar con todos ustedes, tanto aquí como en el server de la comunidad, donde suelo estar hablando con varios de ustedes todos los días.
Quienes me conocen saben que desde que empecé en Hive he tenido la misma PC, a lo largo de mi vida es la única pc de mesa que he tenido de hecho, una compañera fiel que aún con fallas, siempre me solventaba cuando necesitaba publicar o jugar algo de requisitos humildes, esta pc tiene las siguientes especificaciones:

- 250 GB de Disco Duro (este valor fue cambiando con el paso del tiempo, pues el disco sí murió hace tiempo)

Con esta pc hacía milagros, aún con sus constantes congelamientos, errores, limitaciones, y muertes falsas (más de una vez me hizo creer que había estirado la pata) me permitió jugar a Hollow Knight, Celeste y muchos otros juegos a lo largo de estos 11 años y medio que lleva conmigo, pero desde hace ya unos 4 años empezó a presentar fallas (no es broma), y finalmente le ha llegado el momento de descansar.
He tardado mucho en conseguirle un reemplazo a la PC porque básicamente estoy poco a poco arreglando mi casa a su vez que ahorraba para comprar otra, y sinceramente no quería comprar algo que se me iba a quedar obsoleto al año, por lo que era bastante desalentador tener el dinero ahí y terminar utilizándolo en una prioridad mayor, pero después de un sacrificio enorme y muchos meses de espera, el momento ha llegado.
Es irónico, pues hace casi casi un año estaba llegando yo al servidor de Discord de la comunidad y fue allí cuando conocí REALMENTE a algunas de las personas que hacen vida acá, recuerdo que Risha (rishahp) y Jean (therealflaws) estaban teniendo una conversación extremadamente filosófica y fueron quienes me dieron la bienvenida básicamente, por aquel entonces Risha andaba mejorando su pc y su emoción era palpable, primero mejoró su procesador y luego la tarjeta gráfica, así como él, veía a otros usuarios que con el paso de las semanas y los meses hacían pequeñas o grandes mejoras a sus equipos, y sinceramente, si me hubiesen dicho cuando entré que a estas alturas iba a tener una mejor pc, no les habría creído, es casi un círculo, pues SadBear me dijo lo mismo hace casi un año, y ahora me ocurre a mi, desde entonces he pasado horas y horas hablando sobre componentes en el servidor, porque me motivaba mucho la idea de armar un pc por muchísimos motivos.

Risha era mi compañero en el crimen, hablábamos día y noche sobre los mejores componentes para armar una pc contemporánea pero que tampoco fuera demasiado costosa, aparte de él, otros usuarios se nos unían como Digi (DigitalDicast) o Gabo (gabrielserra), la verdad es que son un montón y me gustaría agradecerles a todos, pero es algo que dejaré para la conclusión.
Los que quieren saber de componentes deben estar babeando a estas alturas, los que no saben ya, quiero decir, así que les iré comentando paralelamente los componentes y mi experiencia armando la PC.

No estaba en mis planes comprar un case “gamer”, pero por cuestiones de ventilación (y que el RGB está bonito) decidí comprar uno, el cual incluía 2 ventiladores de fábrica y le añadí 3 ventiladores Checkpoint más, estos tampoco estaban en mis planes, pero me los dieron a cambio de un mouse que devolví y la verdad están bastante bien, este case tiene panel de vidrio templado y su bóveda de cables, además de la pieza metálica que separa la fuente de poder del resto de componentes.

Ni en mis sueños más salvajes pensaba comprar una motherboard para overclocking, pero gracias a una oferta inesperada en Amazon conseguí esta Gigabyte a MENOS de la mitad de su precio, valiendo incluso menos que una B560, lo que sí estaba decidido desde el principio eran las memorias RAM, serían 2 sticks de 8 GB para así aprovechar ese precioso “Dual Channel” del que hablan las antiguas escrituras.
Empecé el armado por colocar las memorias RAM en la mother, que es lo más fácil, pero justo antes vendría el “cerebro” de toda la operación.

Mi plan inicial era un i3 10100, sus 4 núcleos y 8 hilos serían más que suficientes para prácticamente cualquier juego con una gráfica acorde (tampoco es que quisiera jugar todo a 4K), pero una vez más, las ofertas de Amazon hicieron lo suyo, y por un poco más de dinero logré adquirir este procesador con unos respetables 6 núcleos y 12 hilos, introducirlo en la placa fue una tarea terrorífica, porque debes colocarlo en la posición correcta, y luego debes hacer algo de fuerza para cerrar la tapa que fija el procesador, pensé que lo iba a romper haha.
El disipador fue algo adicional que no pensaba comprar, pero lo hice para no preocuparme por temperaturas en un tiempo, instalarlo no fue muy difícil, pero al igual que con el procesador, hay que hacerlo con fuerza y a su vez con cuidado, no sin antes colocar la suficiente pasta térmica.
Con estas 4 piezas instaladas, era hora de atornillar la placa al case, este proceso no fue demasiado difícil, pero debía tener cuidado para que los tornillos no se cayeran dentro de la bóveda de cables o algo así, no hubo ningún accidente y la placa quedó fijada sin mucho problema, era hora de instalar la fuente que dará energía todos los componentes.

Esta fuente la estuve utilizando desde hace un par de semanas antes de armar la pc en mi pc antigua pues su respectiva fuente estaba fallando, y como también había comprado la gráfica, necesitaba utilizarla para “probar” la gráfica, aunque la verdad es que estuve estas dos semanas con un cuello de botella infernal del 95%, y es poco decir.
La fuente tuve que sacarla del case como 3 veces durante el ensamble, pues es semi-modular y pensé que no necesitaría algunos cables, solo para terminarlos incluyendo en diferentes fases conforme iba instalando los componentes, necesitaba uno de los cables sata para los discos, otro para los ventiladores, y el molex para los ventiladores checkpoint, así que el case era un desastre de cables por todas partes, considero que pude hacer mejor el arreglo de cables, pero hice lo que pude, continuemos.
Para el almacenamiento utilicé dos discos duros de 500 GB, y un SSD de 240 marca Kingston para el sistema operativo, hasta el momento, me ha dejado satisfecho, pero ya va siendo hora de hablar de la tarjeta gráfica, la cual es casi un secreto a voces a estas alturas.

Una de las pocas cosas que compré de segunda mano, cuando fui a probarla estuve varias horas viendo cómo se desempeñaba y a pesar de calentarse un poco más de lo debido, pude verificar el correcto funcionamiento de la gráfica y la compré, mi plan inicial era una 1050 ti o una RX 570, pero así como el procesador fue una mejora imprevista, lo mismo pasó con la tarjeta gráfica haha.
Estos serían los componentes principales, debo decir que conseguirle lugar al SSD fue una verdadera pesadilla pues por un detalle de construcción del case no podía instalarlo en el lugar ideal donde debería estar, pero después de ensamblar todo, hice un encendido preliminar para verificar que encendiera y quitarme EL MIEDO DE QUE ALGO ESTUVIERA DESCOMPUESTO, pero no fue el caso, arrancó correctamente hasta la bios, así que la apagué y procedí a hacer el arreglo de los cables para finalizar.
Utilizando "tirrá", bridas para cables, o como los conozcan, fui fijando los cables y conectores que iban a quedar lejos de la vista del público para que la tapa cerrara, no quiero detenerme mucho en este punto porque fue un desastre, pero finalmente, todo quedó en su lugar y la tapa cerró sin problemas.
Pasando un momento al monitor, el de mi pc lleva mostrando pixeles muertos desde hace un par de meses, por lo que pensé que moriría al poco tiempo, sigue funcionando, pero decidí comprar un monitor de segunda mano para poder trabajar correctamente, dejando mi viejo monitor como secundario para tener más área de trabajo, y la verdad es que el espacio del que te proveen dos monitores es espectacular, pero para la instalación me mantuve utilizando un solo monitor.
Antes de empezar a armar todo ya tenía listo un USB con el instalador de Windows 10, la instalación completa duró menos de 10 minutos, y mis tiempos de encendido, apagado y reinicio son cielo y tierra comparados a los de la antigua PC, tardando menos de 30 segundos en cualquier caso.
He estado utilizando la pc un par de días, instalando drivers y verificando que todo funcione correctamente, y la verdad no podría estar más feliz con mi nueva adquisición, la cual como dije será un antes y un después en mi desempeño en la página, y en general, para mi vida cotidiana.
Quiero que quede bien claro, agradezco muchísimo a la comunidad de Hive Gaming en general (además de algunos amigos ajenos a la comunidad), pues gracias a ustedes (todos), votos, comentarios y mensajes es que estoy donde estoy, no quiero que esto suene como el típico agradecimiento de youtuber, pero simplemente no hay una expresión que abarque todo lo que estoy sintiendo justo ahora, simplemente, gracias.

I just recently got a new PC as well, it's been quite a while sine I've been wanting to get one.
Upgrading from a series of parts that date back to 2014, and me buying and setting them up in 2015, so that makes it 7 years. That thing performed so well and is still going strong, it just shows the importance of investing in a proper set of well compatible parts. Now it's in the hands of my little brother, who's putting it to good use.
The previous setup was an i5-4590. 16GBs 1600Mhz of RAM and a legendary Asus Strix 970.
The new build is rocking a 5700x, 32GBs 3600Mhz of RAM and one hell of an underrated AMD RADEON XFX 309 6700XT.
This 6700XT GPU right here is a beast; sadly, people just focus on Nvidia and think that AMD is still garbage, which they once were, but now anymore, not even close. If AMD keeps this up, then soon enough Nvidia won't be able to charge a premium on their GPUS, and that's exactly what we need.

I've heard very good things about AMD, they make very good components by today, but I choosed Intel and Nvidia for personal preference, I would like to try an AMD gpu in the future though.

You did really good with both the CPU and GPU, they'll serve you well. 1070s and 1080s are still some solid GPUs, even in present times. The CPU and motherboard combo is another great duo, you really can't go wrong with Intel after the release of their 10th Gen CPUS, and as always, the i5 CPUs still provide the best bang for the buck experience and price to performance and fps ratios.
The rest of the parts mostly is about preference, but that EVGA PSU really surprised me, those are quite rare, especially in my region.

Al final todo esfuerzo tiene recompensa con paciencia siempre le he tenido fe a hive... Exactamente, ese era mi mayor temor, que una pieza viniera mal y me atrasara un mes, o dos, o TRES todos los planes, parte del riesgo de comprar por internet, pero hasta el momento todo va en orden, fuera de eso, armar la pc es un ejercicio de paciencia y cuidado, se siente bien hacerlo pero siempre llegará un momento donde te pueda la frustración con alguna cosa haha.

Siempre me alegra leer este tipo de post, ver que tenias y la gran mejora que pudiste hacer realmente es un avance tremendo y se entiende que haya sido complicado primero por el costo de hacer una PC y más aun sabiendo que estas haciendo reparaciones importantes en tu casa. Ahora vas a podes disfrutar de hacer y jugar otros juegos. Disfrutala, no tengo dudas de que te la mereces.

Nah, chamo. Hiciste una mala compra con esa gráfica, debiste de haber comprado la R5 240, la gráfica más god que existe. A pesar de ese fallo, se ve potente la PC, buena pa jugar novelas visuales de todos los tipos a full hd.
Así es, no puedo esperar a jugar novelas visuales de 1995 que seguramente tendrán problemas de compatibilidad en el sistema operativo, el único propósito para el cual funcionará esta PC 😎.

Aún recuerdo todas esas conversaciones de hace meses donde hablabas acerca de querer tu PC o hablabamos acerca de armar nuestras PC y de todo tipo de componentes como locos, me alegra haber formado parte del proceso de esto. Tú fuiste la piedra angular de toda esta vaina mi loco, como ya dije esta pc no hubiese sido armada de esta forma sin tu asesoría haha.

Ufffff man, muchas felicidades, me bajo el sombrero, qué pc tan increíble te has armado, me pareció excelente que no te hayas ido por un procesador de 4 núcleos, a estas alturas están como desfasados, uno de 6 está más qué bien, aunque con el tiempo si te puedes comprar uno de 8 nucleos aún mejor, tremendísima la tarjeta gráfica también, de verdad qué alegría por ti bro, sé de antemano el hueso duro de roer que era tu pc, disfrútala. Como una recomendación personal, juega Psychonauts 2, mi goty personal del 2021, no es necesario que juegues el primero pero si quieres puedes hacerlo, el 2 deberías correrlo más que bien con la pc que tienes, saludos.

Efectivamente, un procesador de 4 núcleos puede irse quedando cortito, pero en el caso de los i3 de generaciones recientes y algunos AMD la verdad es que se desempeñan bastante bien, con un i3 9100 que tiene 4 núcleos puedes jugar tranquilamente Elden Ring y lo que venga (con la suficiente gráfica por supuesto).
Aun así, hice el sacrificio por más vida útil del procesador y rendimiento a futuro.
Creo recordar que tengo el primero por ahí en mi biblioteca de Steam cuando lo regalaron hace tiempo, como me gusta ser continuista seguramente lo pruebe primero, pero sí o sí el segundo está en mi lista por todo lo bueno que he escuchado, gracias por pasarte.
Felicidades por tu nueva PC, sé la emoción por la que estás pasando. Al ver los paquetes con los nuevos juguetes para tu Pc es algo muy emocionante y satisfactorio.
Mi actual equipo ya tiene un poco más de 10 años aunque ha medida que pasó el tiempo tuve que actualizarle algunos componentes como disco duro, tarjeta de video y fuente de poder. Pero la tarjeta madre y el procesador siempre han sido el mismo, ahora que lo menciono nunca le he cambiado la pasta termica a mi procesador. Una máquina fiel.
Hiciste una buena actualización a tu máquina, aunque no mencionaste precios creo que es una PC economica que cumple con sus funciones, en este caso Juegos.
Justamente hoy llegaron parte de los dispositivos para mi nueva PC faltan dos piezas más que llegaran muy pronto. Estoy tan emocionado que creo que empezaré a escribir mi publicacion en Hive para que conozcan mi nuevo equipo. 😅

Entendible, yo cuando empecé a armar la mía de hecho no tenía idea de procesadores, y casi nada de tarjetas gráficas, es algo que se aprende si realmente te interesa el tema, y si no pues realmente no pasa nada haha, muchas gracias por comentar!
